May 23, 2002 It's OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
School's out. I've graduated! To my Relève teammates, my classmates and fellow graduates, WE MADE IT!!! The Relève is, miraculously, over, the grades are in, and freedom has arrived. And oh, does it ever feel sweet! Even despite having no job lined up and very few prospects, I can't help but feel this enormous weight lifted off my chest. When I get home I'll have to job-hunt in earnest, but in the meantime I intend to enjoy my freedom. (Incidentally, if you're a potential employer and are looking for a bright, talented employee in advertising or marketing communications, view my resume and let me know!)
These past couple of weeks have been consumed with preparations for my upcoming trip to Europe. 14 countries, 7 and a half weeks, one big PARTY!!! In less than two weeks, I will be in London, living it up, and I can't wait! To see the tour I'll be taking, check it out on Contiki's website. Last week, we took a quick trip to Albany where I proceeded to buy out Old Navy. Since then, I've been shopping around here and attempting to pack. I wrote my latest thought about it; you can read it here.
It's been a while since my last update, so a few birthday wishes are in order. I'll start it off by wishing myself a happy 22nd this past May 2nd. (Yes, it's my website, I can wish myself happy birthday if I want. So there!) Happy 23rd to Shawna on May 4th, and don't worry, you'll get the photos from your party before I leave. Happy quarter-century to Laurie on May 18th, happy 22nd to Elena coming up on June 3rd (we'll have to celebrate before I leave), and happy birthday to my li'l cousins Kim and Andrew on the 30th and 31st of May respectively, and to Suanne on June 2nd.
Some Bon Voyage wishes: Marie-Helène's off to Japan, so here's hoping she has a great time, and finds more multilingual Magic cards. I've added a link to her new website so be sure to check that out. Cathy's off to Austria, Shawna's heading down to Pennslyvania to be the greatest program director any summer camp could want, and, well, I'm leaving for Europe so I'll be sure to send postcards.
Some stirrings of life from the otherwise dormant music scene have cropped up lately. Counting Crows and Our Lady Peace are both due out with new albums this summer, and Collective Soul has a few tour dates booked (albeit minus Ross). Looks like it could be interesting. Which reminds me, I need to get myself an mp3 player to avoid going crazy with all those hours on the bus.
In site news, apart from the new thought, I've added a review of the new Star Wars flick. And I debated taking down the school section, seeing as how I'm no longer a student, but decided to leave it up for the time being. Yes, I know this site's long overdue for a facelift, but it'll have to wait.
Signing off for now. My guidebook's got greetings in a bunch of languages, so au revoir, tot ziens, Auf Wiedersehen, Nai, arrivederci, and adios!
