October 14, 2002 Greetings from the world of the employed!
Yes, now that I'm officially a full-time member of the work force, I find I'm quickly getting used to it. Weekly paychecks, no stress, no exams or projects . . . oh, who am I trying to kid? I miss school. I think I need to start living vicariously through all of you stressed-out people now. Either that, or sign up for a class.
Anyway, my job's very interesting and I like it so far. I'm working at Pinnacle Direct, a direct mail marketing agency that specializes in fundraising campaigns for nonprofit clients. My current title is Account Coordinator, which sounds really important but - oh, what the heck, let's just pretend it is really important. After all, why admit otherwise? Seriously, I am learning a lot, though.
This site comes courtesy of Daimnation Have you ever wondered what you really believe? According to the Belief-O-Matic quiz, the belief system most closely compatible with my own is Secular Humanism (98%). The top Jewish denomination was Reform, which placed in 8th at 63%, but that still falls below Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant (90%), Nontheist (81%), and Neo-Pagan (69%). Even more interestingly, Orthodox Judaism falls down at number 21 (34%), below Taoism (51%), Sceintology (49%) Sikhism (41%), and tied with Islam! Hmmmm, maybe I ought to think about converting . . . Then again, maybe not.
Speaking of Daimnation, this insightful, brilliantly-written blog is rapidly becoming one of my favourite sites on the net. Definately check it out!
In site updates, I've added a new thought, and a review of the movie White Oleander. Also, since I know you're all terrified of missing an update (hah!), you can now enter your e-mail addy on the box on the home page to sign up for update notification.
That's it for now. Till next time!
