Short Summary
"Light and Dark, The final battle of the gods climaxed in a war between Martha, Goddess of all creation; and Cardis, goddess of destruction. At the end of their fierce battle, the stricken goddesses had split the continent in two. Since then, people have come to call this new continent, Lodoss, The Cursed Island." (This is the intro of Record of the Lodoss War)
A party of six then start their destiny to confront the evils and protect the Lodoss island. The main hero Parn is determined to defeat the evil beings and he is also the key to overcome the evils.

Review and thoughts
I believe a lot of people, more or less, know that this is an anime which has very strong element of RPG(Role Playing Game), fantasy or quest type of anime. People who like RPG games will definitely love this anime. I think the non-RPG fans will like this anime as well, because it is such an awesome and 'coooool' anime. The basic storyline is just simply the good guys confronting the bad guys, a typical fantasy type of anime. Nevertheless, there is a lot more than that in this OAV. This OAV could keep you watching for hours. The characters are just amazingly cool, both the good and bad guys. The animation is neatly done overall, but the animation doesn't seem to be very smooth when dealing with action scenes. The background music and sounds are various and are really nice. By the way, I love the opening theme song of this OAV.
