LINKS FOR CIVILIZATION IV, III, II, I and COLONIZATION

Civilization IV Links

Official site for the strategy video game Civilization IV. Includes game overview, downloads, screenshots, news, forums, and the game developer's blog.

www.2kgames.com/civ4

Civilization Fanatics' Center

Dedicated to the entire Civilization series. Site offers patches and updates, videos, screenshots, downloads, and more. In my opinion, the best dedicated civ site ever. The fans really are fanatics.

http://www.civfanatics.net

Apolyton Civilization Site

This is a page dedicated to the Civilization II series. However, this site is huge in scope and offers patches and updates, videos, screenshots, downloads, and more for the entire Civilization series and several other civ-like games.

http://apolyton.net/

Sid Meier's Civilization Portail de la Ligue Francophone (French)

Fantastic French site that includes info and resources for Civ IV and Civ III. I am not sure if this site has retained much in the way of Civ II or Civ I as in the past. This is probably a better site for those who speak and play the French version of Civ 3,4.

http://www.civfr.com/

Civilization III Links

Civilization III

Official site includes reviews, downloads, previews, and image gallery.

http://www.civ3.com

Apolyton Civilization CS: Civilization III

Basically, a massive barrage of news and upcoming events and so forth splash this outstanding Apolyton page. Of course, packed with downloads, links, screenshots, and forums what more could a civer ask for. A site that rocks - you have to visit!

http://www.apolyton.net/civ3/

Dorian Crede's First Civilization III Website

Go to this site because: A) I personally navigated this site before Civ III was a glimmer in Sid Meier's eye; B) Dorian Crede is the author of one of the first Civ II modpacks: MODERN AGES MODPACK 1850-2050 for Civ II and I cannot thank him enough for pioneering ideas that made civ fun to play back in beginning; C) He has worked hard to make a cool website, pay him a visit and send him a nice hello!

Apolyton Civilization Site: CIV II

This is a page dedicated to the Civilization II series. However, this site is huge in scope and offers patches and updates, videos, screenshots, downloads, and more for the entire Civilization series and several other civ-like games.

GameSpy Planet site for all the Sid Meier's Civilization games, Pirates!, Pirates 2, Civilization IV, News, Trailers, Screenshots, Previews, Reviews, Guides and more

A meeting point for all spanish (and non spanish) Civilization fans. Last Update: Saturday, 26-Feb-2005 12:53:43 AST. LAST UPDATES are in News, Spanish Scenarios and some awards.

http://spanish.apolyton.net

The Scenario League

An updated site with some really great scenarios and apparently contests for modpack/scenario designers. There are also a couple of pages for resources and a group of fine tuned members who really know their stuff about modding Civ II.

http://sleague.apolyton.net

Hodadian Award Central

Again, another page of nostalgia where awards were once given for modpacks and scenarios. This page still has a number of links to visit to get a feel of the impact and fun that was involved for competitions regarding the modding of civ. A blast from the past to be sure.

http://hac.apolyton.net/AUTHOR SITES

Mercator's Civilization2 Site - Maps for Civilization II

A classic author site for maps and map utilility and still the best. The last thing Mercator did was add a link to the home of CivMapGen, a powerful Civilization II map generator.

http://www.civgaming.net/mercator

Carl's Scenarios for Civilization II

Enjoy scenarios, graphics, and design help for Civilization II. This site is a repository of Civilization II scenarios and utility programs which the author has made over the years to assist in the editing of Civilization II save and scenario files.

http://users.stargate.net/~harden/index.html

Kestral's Civilization II Online

Kestral has a wonderful index page that has now incorporated your choice of CIv 3 or Civ 2 ToT. This is a fantastic site and he will even email modpacks or scenarios that you are interested in.

http://www.users.bigpond.com/kestrel18/

Civilization Fascist Site: Home of the Fascist Modpack

Produced by Steve Strayer, the Fascist Modpack is meant to be used as a correction to the 20th century portion of Civ 2 which chose Fundamentalism instead of Fascism for reasons of political correctness. While I caution that it is not for the faint of heart, the patch itself is really good and an absolute must have for WWII scenarios.

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages
/sgt_stryker/homepage.htm

Tecumseh's Village

Essentially another ToT site, but really good and by one of the best Civ Modpack/Scenario authors out there. Also a site that employs excellent music while you are viewing.

http://www.tecumseh.150m.com/

Eyn's World

No links section could be complete without Eyn's page. While in French, I implore you to check it out. It is a full service website for Civ 2, Civ 3 and ToT. I highly recommend this site for something different even though it does not appear to have been updated since June 2004.

http://eyn.free.fr/

The Zadanian League

Awesome author site that probaby hasn't been updated since 2002. This site has been around, in and out much like CPH since 1998. It is supported by scenario author DSquared and still has plenty to offer.

http://dsquared.fiwh.com/civ2/scenlist/d/d.php

The Keeper of Utilities for Civilization Scenario Designers. Mostly this is a site for Civ II: Test of Time but it is a great resource for all. The have patch V1.1 for Civilization II: Test of Time (3.4 MB) by Hasbro Interactive. Site includes utility for converting Civilization II maps to 256-color (8-bit) uncompressed Windows bitmaps and vice versa. Very cool and very smooth.

http://coc.apolyton.net/utilities/index.shtml

Trakoria

This is a website based upon a Swedish role playing game called Trakorien that has been converted to a Civ II modpack. I've played this mod and it is a treat for anyone who wants something different. Highly recommended.

http://home7.swipnet.se/~w-75716/trakoria/

Tour Eiffel Site

This is among the first Civ 2 sites I found back when most people only had Civ 2 versions 1.08 - 2.42. Frederic Meunie put together a fabulous site for the time and it is a tribute to the early influence of the game. Take a moment just to see what was popular in the past - you might be surprised.

http://www.paris.web66.com/civ2/civima.htm

The Nest of Birdilization

This is the zaniest, weirdest, most bizarre incarnation of Civilization II I have ever seen. It is practically modpack blasphemy if there is such a thing. Yet, I am oddly attracted to it in much the same sick way I want to see the results of someone slipping on a banana peel. If you don't laugh at what is contained in this site you might cry. If you don't cry, you'll experience shock. If you don't feel anything, don't feel bad.

http://www.oocities.org/coox3d/ FAN SITES

Civilization II Checkpoint

This is the first civ site I ever visited on the net back in 1997. It is quite good for a fan site and offers scenarios, maps, downloads, and links. (English/Espaņol)

http://www.soulie.com/civ

The Final Civilization Civ II Fan Site

The Final Civilization Civ II fan site includes downloads, maps, scenarios, trainers, units and links. Probably the best of the last of the fan sites out there. This Ultimate Civilization Ring site is owned by Martin Lott.

http://www.oocities.org/jasev/indexeng.html

Civilizacion Hispanica

What a great site for fans! Simple yet complete and a lot of good alternative art. I think Juan should have received more praise for this site earlier but we can still honor his site by paying a visit.

http://www.oocities.org/fiera_com/civ2/index.html

The Swedish Civilization II Site

What can I say -- this site is in English but it's -- got a Swedish twist. This site is probably circa 1998-99 and appears to have only been updated for 3 months from inception. But it is a good resource for those interested in a good Swedish scenario and a bit of background history. Pretty cool actually.

http://web.telia.com/~u87514347/

What Javier has done is post a number of good scenarios and links that he has put together. He is now working on the Spanish Civilization site but some of his downloads may be handy.

http://www.oocities.org/jasev/indexeng.html

Not updated since July 2001, Dan put together a really good site with some interesting scenarios included. I suggest that you stop by and give him a chance.

http://www.civilization2.8m.com/

Fan site that sprung up before the turn of the century and dead but not lost. Contains some interesting scenarios that reflect what authors were doing in the early days of civ. Great for posterity. THIS PAGE WAS LAST UPDATED ON: Tuesday, 07 September 1999.

http://erin1drew7.8m.com/civ2.htm

A great fan site with many scenarios from the early days for Civilization II. This site is by Carl-Anders Drott who does not appear to have updated this site in some time. I only include it as a tribute to the power and influence of civ.

http://home.swipnet.se/ca_drott

An abandoned Russian site that was last updated in 2000. Driven originally by a fans but now floats on the net as a monument to the game.

http://www.angelfire.com/ga/hiciv

I include this site to emphasize that friendly rivalry of civ players and fans exists. It's another good idea from a fan for a site and we should tip our hats to all who try.

http://members.tripod.com/~SuperiorCiv

This is not really even a fan site as much as it is a page filled with a load of old Civilization II links. I only post it because many fans never got recognition and some of their sites are still up in these links. I expect to go through these links as some point and post them individually and bypass the broken ones.

http://members.tripod.com/~N2AT2/webpage/civ2.htm

Brave New World

Modification pack with a newer version for the Fantastic Worlds add-on and an older one for the original version of the game.

http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Troy/4288

A Mathematical Analysis of Civ2

The Mathematics of Civilization 2. This is it: the day that your teachers and your parents said math was going to save your life.

Civ 2 Arcade Game Units
Collection of unit graphics from different video games.

Civilization I Links

CivWiki

What can I say, except this has been a much needed link that I expect every upstanding respected Civer to visit! This is truly the epitome of getting involved-- share everything about civ that you can because let's face-- you can never get enough civ!

http://civilization.wikispaces.com/

CivFanatics Civilization I Site

The best and most informative Civilization I site I have seen on the web, even aside from the fact that it lacks scenarios. However, do check the forums as Civ I is still very active at CivFantics and may have a GOTM (game of the month) still floating around.

http://www.civfanatics.com/civ1/

Apolyton Civilization I Site

Essentially, a part of the main Apolyton Super Site, this page is very informative, and includes a number of important downloads including utilities and scenarios! Highly recommended especially if you play CivNet.

http://apolyton.net/civ1/

The Civilization Page

Nostalgic Microprose Civilization and Avalon Hill Civilization fan site that has been abandoned (For recent changes, take a look at What's New it's positively memorable.) The Civilization Page is a repository of information on various games that are titled Civilization. ... It is the only site I know with info about the Mac version of Civilization

http://www.lilback.com/civilization

Narcity.com: The Ultimate Civ I & Civ II Site

A really cool fan site that is dedicated to Civ I and Civ II with a few extras on board including Multiplayer Directory, Civ Tourny, Downloads, Monthly Challenge and so forth. A positively rockin' fan site and your visit will definitely satisfy.

http://www.rawlovers.com/narcity/fun/civilization.html

Colonization Links

Unofficial Microprose Colonization Site

This site is a tribute to the Colonization game with a wealth of information and downloads that would make even the casual gamer salivate. This is great site and deserves a lot more credit than it probably gets. Civ gamers should take Colonization breaks between long turns in a WWII scenario.

http://www.colonization.biz/

The Swedish Colonization Clone

A classic in the making, this colonization clone is shaping up to be a big contender. Excellent graphics, beta engine, outstanding interface and small 14.4mb size make this game a killer masterpiece. To say that this game will likely capture a huge following of players with everything that it has to offer. Give it a playtest today!

http://www.swecol2.com/news.php

The Russian Colonization Website

Basically a killer site with downloads for Colonization in English or Russian.

http://colonization94.narod.ru/eng_colonization_download.html

The German Colonization Website

Positively fanstastic. This site is in German so you made need to translate things a bit -- filled with great downloads and highly recommended!!!

http://www.navigatorseite.de/seite_20_d.html

Civfanatics Colonization Forum

A must see with over 184 topics archived that is a monument in itself. Please, please do yourself the pleasure of making a visit. I am sure you will find an answer to your question(s) and learn a thing or two.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/f-29.html

FreeCol.org

What a fantastic site! As you know, Colonization came out after the original Civilization game but it was not truly Civilization or a sequel like Civilization II. Colonization was a game that best falls under the description Civilization 1.5 -- plays like a scenario with its own game rules and was a beautifully orchestrated game that most players fell in love with. These wonderful developers have continued where Sid Meier's team left off and I have to say they've produced a terrific game of professional quality. Their game is what would have been Colonization II and its absolutely great. CPH will do everything possible to promote this very excellent tribute to Colonization.

This is not really a civ site. In fact, it is a story of a man who was so addicted to civ and other computer games that it almost ruined his life. I am including this link to remind everyone that civ is just a game and while I love it dearly, I love my family, job and offline life so much more.
