Flower Pens/Pencils Created by Tam Cummings Aug 2002 |
Flower Pens/pencils created by Tam Cummings Aug 2002 Size H crochet hook small amounts of ww yarn, green, white, yellow, or burgondy or your color choices Pens or pencils With Green, ch 6, sl st to form ring. ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Ch 3, dc in next 5 sc, sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten Off. Attach flower color in any st, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in next st. Ch 3, turn, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st across. Fasten off. Repeat on other side skip on st, this will leave 2 stitches unworked, one inbetween each petal. You will need the pattern for the flower napkin rings to make the rest. Make one leaf ring, and two flower rings. Work in loose ends, I left one of the green ends to help pull on the additional leaf ring and flower rings, then worked it in after flower was assembled. Take the first part made and slide on over the green part, one flower ring, and then the other flower ring, then slip on the leaf ring. Work in last loose end. I used hotglue to attach to the pen caps, I filled the bulb (first green part made) with hot glue and then pushed in the pen cap. NOTES: It may look nicer if you add the flowers to the other end of the pen, but I wanted to be able to change the pens when they ran out. I then placed the pens in a small glass jar that was covered in lace. I just took a piece of lace, placed the jar ontop, then gathered the material up around the jar and stuck it dow in the jar. Then stuck the flowers in. You can also use a small clay pot with foam of some kind. If you can find a pen or pencil that is close to a green color they would look evern better. I just used materials that I had on hand. Hope you enjoy the pattern. |
