Dress Afghan Designed by Tam Cummings in 2000 This afghan has an opening at the top of the dress, this is for putting their favorite stuffed animal or doll into. They can cuddle with their favorite item and wear a dress to bed. Size Q hook 3 (8 oz) skeins mc white 3 (3.5 oz.) Skeins cc pink Shell st = 3dc, ch1, 3 dc Rnd 1 Using 3 strands with MC chain 21, sl st to form ring Rnd 2 - Ch 3, 41 dc's in ring (42 sts counting ch3) sl st to top of ch 3. Rnd 3 - Ch 3 working in back loops dc in next st and each around, join with sl st to top of ch 3 Rnd 4 Repeat round 3 Rnd 5- Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, Ch 1, * dc in next 3 sts, Ch1 Repeat from * around sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off. Rnd 6 - With CC - Join with sl st in any ch 1 space, ch 3, 2dc,ch1, 3dc in same spot as joining. *In next ch 1 spot 3dcs, Ch1, 3 dcs* Repeat between *s in each ch1 spot around Join with sl st to beginning ch3 Fasten off. NOTE: Fold work in half - When folded in half with work lying flat you will have 7 sets of shells showing, with the same number on the back. From this point on you will be working in rows. Row 7 will be joining both layers to make one layer. Row 7 - Skip the first 2 sets of shells and join MC with sl st, ch 3, (the first two shells make up a shoulder and are not connected. *Shell st in next ch1 spot,*dc between dc*, Repeat between *s 2 more times. Leave remaining stitches alone to form other shoulder. You should now have one layer to work with. Ch 3, Turn. Row 8 - *Shell st in next ch1 spot,* 2 dcs between shells*, Repeat between *s 2 more times, end row with only one dc at the end, ch 3 turn. Row 9 dc before 1st shell st, *Shell st in next ch1 spot,* 3 dcs between shells*, Repeat between *s 2 more times, end row with 2 dc at the end, ch 3 turn. Row 10 - dc before 1st shell st, *Shell st in next ch1 spot,* 4 dcs between shells*, Repeat between *s 2 more times, end row with 2 dc at the end, ch 3 turn.
