In the hot summers my kids put the water bottle in the freezer over night then get up in the morning they put it in the bottle cover and take it to school.  With the cotton type yarns the ice melts and keeps the water cool all day, the cotton soaks up the condensation from the bottle.  I made these for the teachers it kept their papers dry, they were using old socks till I made these.
The water bottle with cover pictured here has been used for about 6 months and washed weekly.  I think it has held up pretty well.  I used Dennin for that one.  The one without the bottle is made using peaches and cream, I made the teacher's covers out of peaches and cream varigated.  They are holding up well and the varigated turned out forming rectangles, it looked cute wish I had a photo of those.  The rectangles alternated in rows kinda like a checkered pattern.  Will have to make another one or get a photo of the teachers. :)  Just imagine my saying "excuse me can I take a photo of your water bottle"  LOL.  They would think I was NUTS.

I just run a piece of the yarn in and out of top row of cover, put bottle in and pull string tight and tie it in a bow.
