Wekiva

Lower Wekiva Preserve

Terrain:  Single track trail, sand roads, and equestrian trails go through pine flat woods and cypress swamp.  No hunting.

To Get There:  Take I-4 to SR 46 exit at Sanford.  Turn left (West), and continue for 4 to 5 miles to the entrance on the right directly across from Longwood Markham Road and before the Wekiva River bridge.

This is a good area to explore when other areas are knee deep in hunters.  There is a nice little single track loop trail on the left just inside the entrance.  The remainder of the riding in this small preserve is on sand roads and equestrian trails.  A side trail will take you to Katie's Landing where there is a store and refreshment stand.  (I pulled this info off the web, but I forgot where.)
