Day 21 Ont.

Wednesday, July 14, 1999

Woke up just prior to dawn and went to a gorgeous spot I found yesterday in the shadow of an old restored lighthouse where I watched a spectacular sunrise over Lake Huron, with the Ferry id soon be on in the distance. Soon after enjoying and taking a few pictures of the sunrise I rushed back into town to the ferry docks to assure myself getting on the first ferry of the day. There ended up being no worries though, the boat set sail only half full.

The ferry trip took an hour and a half, during which I spent most of the trip trading stories with an older woman traveling around Canada with her sisters, this woman started out from BC though, much more driving have they done then I!

When the boat docked I took off and with a lot of determination ended up driving for the rest of the daylight hours... Southern Ontario is very far away behind me now...I spent the night in Rossport Provincial Park, a truly lovly park, very small but very nice, I never did stop into it on my way into Ontario...was my loss in not doing so.

Shortly before sunset while walking along the rocky coast I came across a young woman from Minnesota who was sketching the water-scape before us with pastels... was an awesome job she was doing on it too! Taking pictures is easy in my opinion... doing what she was doing is hard!... As the sun set we spoke a lot about various things, I showed her my photo album and she showed me some of her works. It was cool talking to her, but as it got dark the mosquitoes got unbearable and we both decided to call it a night. I realized after we left each other that night that I had never even asked her name in all the talking we did, but even though I dont know who she is and ill never see her again in my lifetime, im glad I met her that night...

Sunrise over Lake Huron. It was much more lovly a sunrise then this picture shows so i wasnt going to put it on my page BUT since it shows the Ferry i was on in the center-right of the picture i thought id scan it anyways
