Betsy Beard Brittain Spouse: Tim Brittain Children: Ian, Collin and Jenna Beth Where do you live? Anniston, AL, right off 1-20 between Atlanta, GA,and Birmingham, AL Tim is still working as an industrial angineer at Anniston Army Depot. He has a feeling the Lord may be getting reading to lead us elsewhere, but for now we are content here. Both sets of our parents live here and that has been a real plus. Ian is a 3rd grader now. He loves swimming and soccer plus learning to play the piano. Jenna Beth is 2 and she loves to explore - especially when she is "unsupervised." She keeps us hopping and they all keep us laughing. It's not very quiet around here most of the time, to say the least. I'm not using my speech pa-pa-pathology degree at present. These days I'm a 3rd grade/kindergarten teacher/keeper of a 2-year old. We are in our secon year of home-schooling. It is simultaneously the hardest and most rewarding "occupation" I've ever had. Besides that, I he help out with the kid's choir at our church (Anniston Bible church). Our church family is very precious to us. In day-to-day life, apples, bananas, and oranges remind me of all the great fruit that doesn't grow here! We would love to head to Taiwan "one day" if we can sock away the $... I hope the biggest changehas been a spiritual one. Learning "who I am in Christ" and of God's complete acceptance of me "in Christ" has changed me greatly. I guess I understand "grace' now. I discovered in Ephesians, that walking with the Lord isn't abou tme "measuring up" but is instead about me resting in the finished work of Christ. God's not waiting for me to be perfect. (He knows that's a lost cause.) He was just waiting for me to figure that out, and start resting in who He is and what He has already done. Knowing He fully accepts me has freed me up to follow HIs lead more boldly, and now I'm learning, by His grace, to pass that hope along to others. On a lighter note, regarding change, I am now not only "from" alabama. I sound like I'm from Alabama too. Oh well, I held out as long as I could...And in terms of how I'm the same, you guessed it. I still embarrass myself royally on a regular basis. I'm pretty new at the e-mail thing, but I'm looking forward to overcoming my quite-deserved reputation as a lously letter writer. (Conventional mail is also welcome!) So try me! Take Care Betsy |
