Larry Garlick Spouse: Karen Children: David William Garlick II - aged 4, Samuel Roland Garlick-aged 2 Address: Westerminister, CO 80020 My wife, Karen, is managing our household and gearing up to begin home schooling next year. She is an elementary teacher who still substitutes in the local school district from time to time. My kids, David and Samuel, are sprouting like weeds (not like they will ever be extrememly tall). David, my oldest, enjoys swimming, story time, computer games, playing with friends, and he has a talent for baseball. The guy was hitting the ball on the fly by the time he was three years old. My two-year old, Samuel, is the more technical of the two, enjoying buttons on the somputer (he loves turning off my surge protector under the desk while I'm on the computer), the lawnmower, the car. He has already asked to drive. I had to turn him down. My Mom and Dad are moving to Denver next year, from Illinois. Lorene, my oldest sister lives in Kankakee Illinois with her husband and four boys. They are in between ministries right now. Lynette lives in the Washington DC area where her husband is an associate pastor. She has six kids, three boys and three girls. David lives in Lombard outside of Chicago with his wife, daughter, and son. He is a network consulting manager. Christine lives in Chicago with her husband and three kids. Her husband is a cop, so if you get pulled over in Chicago just tell the cop you're a friend of Mike Mealer's family. I'm a software engineer for the City of Westminister in the northwest metro Denver area. I'm also about a third of the way through my master of computer information systems degree from Denver University. Don't ask me why. I would rather be reading a good book on medieval England (or researching the possible results of the Civil War, if the confederates had F-16 fighers). I keep heavily involved in local politics and am volunteering as a district coordinator for the Republican party in my county (go Newt!). I am also involved in my church, where I teach Sunday School from time to time, and sing with the worship singers on Sunday morning. I do think of Taiwan every now and then (especially when our president makes unfavorable comments to the mainland about American's resolve in protecting it from a Chinese invasion). I think of Morrison every time I go into my favorites on my browser, because the Morrison web page is on it. Karen and I went back to Taiwan for about ten days in 1993. My folks were living up in Puli at the time. I showed her all the sites important to me while growing up. Most have been changed and many don't even exist anymore. I'm little chubbier now, and my wife was just commenting on the grey showing up in my hair. I'm sure none of you are having the same problems. Would it surprise anybody if I told you I have been tossing around the idea of sunning for the state legislature? We'll see what happens. I still like history, politics, sports (GoWorld Champion Broncos), and a good war game now and again. Denver is the greatest place to live, but don't tell any more Californians. We've got too many of them out here already. Keep in touch, and God bless you all. |
