Spouse:     Jon
Children:   Jonathan (3 yrs on 10/29, Christine (17 mos),
                 expecting #3 on 12/25/98
Address:    Richmond, B.C. Canada

Jon and I have been married for four years.  Jon has been an Engineer with the Boeing Co., (Seattle) for the past 10 years.  In September this year ('98), we moved up to Vancouver B.C. so he could attend Regent College, a lay Bible college.  He is pursuing an MA in Christian Studies.  It has been an exciting change for us.  John is enjoying his courses very much, they are very stimulating and practical (but HARD work!!).  We live about 5 minutes away from my parents, which has been great for me.  They have been wonderful and very available babysitters for our two toddlers.

My parents are involved in a church planting project here.  They still fly to Taiwan about twice a year to be a resource to the collegiate/career ministries there.  My sister, Linda, graduated in Electrical Enginerring from Univ. of Wash., and is working at a software company here in Vancouver.  My brother, Peter, just graduated from Regent (MA in Christian Studies also), and has opened a coffee shop ministry , which is very consuming!

I'm a full-time Mom/housewife, and am enjoying it more as time goes on.  Currently, I'm busy with getting our family settled here, Bible Study Fellowship, and have had a few opportunities already to participate in cancer-related projects.

What reminds me of Taiwan?  Vancouver has a very large population of Hong Kong/Taiwan immigrants.  Authentic Cantonese/Taiwanese cuisine and shopping is accessible every where!  You can get just about anyuthing here, that you can get in Taiwan.  So, if any of you are homesick for anything from Taiwan, Vancouver is much closer!  We would welcome any visitors!

'Any plans to return to Taiwan?  I have traveled to Taiwan a couple dozen times since we graduated, with my previous job.  I don't have any current plans of visiting.  However, I would love to show Jon around there some time, if the right opportunity came along.

How have I changed?  What would surprise everyone?  Haven't really changed that much outwardly/mannerisms/personality, etc. (at least not that I know of).  Inwardly, I've changed a lot - through life's circumstances and challenges.  I'm sure this is true with everyone.

All for now,

Debbie

Dear Family and Friends,

We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas!  We have a lot to be thankful for this year.  To end the year, we were blessed with a healthy baby boy on Wednesday (12/16).  His name is yet to be determined.  Jonathan and Christine have welcomed him with excitement and love.  We are all doing well - thanks for your prayers for us!
