The Rebels participated in three tournaments in 1998. The first
tournament of the year was in July in
Seattle.
This was our debut tournament. No one knew who we were or how
we would play but the team from San Jose, California got 10's
for looking good on the ice in the cool, new uniforms.
The next two 1998 tournaments were local to the San Jose
area. Both events were considered holiday tournaments and were
held on the ice rink at Hockey WorkOut, Inc:
Labor Day and
Christmas.
September 1998 was the start of a new womens league at Hockey WorkOut.
The Rebels began play in the 3-on-3 league as Hockey WorkOut was the
practice ice before travelling to Seattle, WA for the team's debut
tournament.
The Fall
season had the startup league schedule, timeslot and player problems
but the Rebels organized team ways helped the league through its
initial season. These problems were obvious during the season's
playoffs and
"championship"
game.
