Hello and welcome to my festive fall fun page! Fall is my favorite season. I love listening to the whisper of the wind. I love watching the blustery Autumn breezes blow. I love the crispness in the air. I love the simple landscape, blanketed in fallen leaves. I love donning turtle necks, sipping cocoa and admiring the season in its finest.

Along with the wonderful smells and flavors of fall. I have some great tips for you to decorate your homes for the season. They will add a little fall charm and class to any house.

Nothing says welcome more than a beautiful fall colored wreath hanging on your front door.

Easy Wreath

Buy a grapevine wreath. Leave it plain, use spray glitter, or spray paint it. Let paint dry completely between several thin coats to avoid drips and flaking. Hot glue a large red bow to the top or bottom of the wreath. You can leave it like that or you an glue on small ornaments, pine cones, or small artificial flowers or berries

Fall Wreaths

Making Wreaths

Here is a wonderful holiday candle you can make yourself.

Squash Candle

What you will need.

Acorn squash

Knife

String for wick

Paraffin

Upholstery needle

Newspaper for working surface

Putty

What you do:

Cut the top off an acorn squash. Remove the seeds and inside flesh. Use this hollow squash for a candle mold.

Thread a wick through the bottom of the squash using a long upholstery needle or other large needle. Seal the bottom with a bit of putty. Stand the squash in a large glass to keep it level.

Pour your melted paraffin, remembering to keep some in reserve to fill the shrink well as the candle cools. You may have to do this several times, poking a small hole along the wick to relieve any trapped air.

When your candle is fully hardened, cut away or peel away the squash shell and you are left with a wonderfully shaped unique candle. The flesh of the squash will leave a rustic patina on your candle as well. Flatten the base of your candle by rubbing it in on an old frying pan on low heat.

Here Is A Unique Craft.

Nature Mirrors And Frames

Find a framed mirror or picture frame; which hangs or stands. The frame will be covered, so old frames are great, too.

On your romantic nature walk collect small dried leaves, twigs, seeds, cones, acorns, flowers, etc.

Spray the dried items with hairspray containing mink oil; or light clear sealer. This shines and seals the dried items.

Optional: Spray shiny gold paint on some of the seeds, acorns, flowers and leaves.

Use fast drying glue, or a glue gun placing glue onto a corner of the leaf...

Then, press the gluey leaf onto the frame only (hot glue cracks glass).

Decoratively place leaves, acorns... around the frame. Let dry and display for fond memories.
