ALMAND, MINCHEW posted by George Krell on Tuesday, January 21, 1997: Looking for any info on William W. ALMAND b.approx 1816, he married Francis MINCHEW b. approx. 1830. I find them in the 1860 census of Volusia Co., Fl. My 98 yr. old grandfather says William came from the Conyers, Ga. area.They had three children: Emma ALMAND, Jackson ALMAND, and William Lee ALMAND. Appreciate any help.

MITCHELL, STREET, WELLBORN posted by Tom Street on Sunday, January 26, 1997: Searching for info on the STREET and MITCHELL families who lived in Rockdale Co. from 1830s-1880s. My g.grandfather THOMAS DEAN STREET & wife LAURA JANE WELLBORN had most of their children in Rockdale Co. from 1882-1897. His father J.T. (John Thomas) STREET b.1835 married Margery Anne MITCHELL (b. 1830) Nov.7, 1856 in Newton Co., and his father Thomas STREET b.1788 in GA shows up in the 1840,1850, & 1860 Newton Co.- Conyers, GA. I believe all these Newton Co. events happened in present day Rockdale Co. Thomas' (b. 1788) father was Samuel Street who came from VA via NC and died in Jackson Co., GA. I know nothing about the MITCHELL family. I have no record of John Thomas STREET after 1860. A John Street from GA was taken prisoner and released at the end of the Civil War. I am specially interested in finding out what happened to him and his wife. Looking for cemetery, census, or church records. Any help would be appreciated.
