BAKER, LOYALL posted by Elizabeth Baker on Wednesday, February 21, 2001: My ancestors were early settlers of Jasper Co, GA. James Baker applied for a cattle marker in 1807 in Jasper Co, GA. The 1820 Census lists James Baker, Joshua Baker 45+ years and Jesse Baker 45+ years. Jesse Loyall, brother of my gg grandmother, Margaret ("Peggy") Loyall Baker, was a neighbor of Jesse Baker. Peggy Loyall married my gg grandfather, Charles Baker, and moved to Tuscaloosa, AL. Jesse Loyall, John Loyall and Peggy Loyall were children of Francis Loyall and wife, Elizabeth Hicks, all of VA. Evidence indicates that their plantations were near Monticello, or the area that formed Newton Co. Would appreciate ANY information about these families,
