Looking for other researchers of the Smith, Penn, Stallings and Andrews families of Rockdale County. Specifically, I am looking for other descendents of William M. Smith and Mary E. Stallings. William's parents are not known but Mary's parents were Elisha H. Stallings and Milly Burt. I descend from their son, Robert Jackson Smith and Hettie Andrews.

Esther CONYERS b. ? d? m. Joseph William HUMPHREYS b. 1744 d.1809 He was granted land in St. George Parrish for service in Rev. War. She had a brother - ?Thomas - think they lived in this area prior to land grant. Does anyone have any info. Also, which Dr. Conyers was Conyers Ga. named for.

JAMES SHAW/RHODA FARRAR or FARROW. Married on 1 MAR 1820 in Madison, Morgan, GA. Desperately searchng for his family...ancestors or siblings. His sons and grandsons kept on using the names JAMES and WILLIAM for the first two males born in each generation, so, WILLIAM would be a good choice as his Father or Brother. Have him in DeKalb, GA 1830 with family. His last recorded child was b. 1836. His wife is head-of-household in Benton Co, AL, in 1850. No JAMES. Help!!

Researching the Taylor, Hollingsworth and Knight families who belonged to Smyrna Presbyterian Church and lived in the Conyers area from late 1830s to 1880. Especially interested in William Jackson (K) Night and his brother Sampson, Henry Taylor and his brother William. Henry's son William M. Taylor married Martha M. Knight in Rockdale County in 1873. These are my great-great grandparents.

Seeking information on Connell, Mims, Hogg. Michael M. Connell is my Gr. Grandfather, married Emily Mims, March 12, 1850 in Macon Co. Al. , Michael Mother was Nancy, maiden name unknown, were know to be in Hardaway, Macon Co. Al between 1845 and 1850. Michael's and Emily's family moved to Pike Co. Al. Emily and sons appear on the 1850 census. No record of Michael after that. He is beleived to have hied in the cicil war. We believe that his parents may have come from Ga. My father was a grandson of Michael M.' son Micahel Marion Connell born in 1850 in Union Springs, Al.. My father married Essie Lela Hogg. Her roots are Ga. Al. Ms. FL. My great grandfather,JOHN THOMAS HAGAN and wife JULIA ANN TERRES HAGAN were in Rockdale Ga. pre-1884 for only a short time-They came from Atlanta with their children because he heard Rockdale was good for one's health-they only remained long enough for the birth of yet two more children. they had in all 20-but 7 died before their 4th birthdays.They would have had with them the following children:Lee;Cora;Walter;Leah; Lena;Mary;and Wesley. Frank was b 1884 in Rockdale Ga. andNelle was b 1886 in Rockdale Ga. has anyone run into this family while searching? After leaving Rockdale they returned to Atlanta,where 4 more children were born-the very last were twins.

Searching for information on the following surnames MANNING, BANKS, GROOVER These families supposedly lived in the Rockdale, Newton, Walton or Henry counties of Ga. in the 1700-1800's. Later moved to centeral Texas. Migration path is Va>NC>Fl>Ga>Tx. I have a lot of info on the Manning family when they first settled in Va. and N.C., but almost nothing can be found for them in Florida and Georgia. I don't know where the Banks and Groover lines first settled. My line descends from Reuben Manning+Polly Stubbs, Reuben Manning+Mary Margaret Banks. Her mother was thought to be a Groover. I have absolutely nothing on the Groover family. These were my gg grandparents and my great grandparents. Any information about these surnames would be appreciated. Paula Dunklin
