on Jan 10,1927 Charles William Hunt was found shot to death by a Bob Smith & no doctor was called & death was ruled a suicide by coroner,J.W.Wright. Undertaker was Stillwell Everett. Charles lived at 7 Laurel St in Porterdale & was employed as a mill operative in the area.Bob Smith & the undertaker rresided in Covington. Death certificate says "parents unknown" & has incorect wife's name unless g'pa was a bigamist. Seeking advice as to how you think I should follow up on this d.c. info to learn parents names,if g'pa had 2 wives, & if a news story exists abt this death, & anything else to further my database of family info!

ROBINSON,SANDERS,WHITFIELD. William Osmus Robinson b. 1825 Morgan Co, GA, grew up in Newton Co. GA and married in Butts Co., GA in 1851. Who were his parents?? He named his first son Obadiah Levi Sanders Robinson. The Levi came from the other side of the family--why Obadiah and Sanders? Also believe he was related to Whitfields as he named a son James Whitfield Robinson. We believe W.O. may have been a brother to John T. Robinson who was born in 1817 in Newton County, GA and m. Nancy Caroline Aycock. They lived at Rocky Plains in Newton County, GA, and later moved to Carroll County, GA. They, too, named a son Whitfield. We believe our set of Robinsons came out of Maryland and settled at Edgefield District,SC during time of American Revolution. Later on, some family migrated to Claiborne co., Mississippi and others came to middle Georgia in the Morgan, Newton, Butts, and Putnam County area. Would appreciate any help in finding the parents of William Osmus Robinson. Thanks so much!

Conyers City Cemetery-- H. J. Rhodes buried there. Does anyone have info on him? Was wondering if he might be the same as Jabez Rhodes?? He was in CSA in Capt. A. Zachery's Calvary. I have a Mary Rogers that m. a Jabez Rhodes, and is in the 1850 Newton Co., Ga census. I have located nothing further on them other than the census, not even a marriage date or place. Mary Rogers Rhodes was a sister of my GG-Grandfather, David L. Rogers(1823-1903) that married Sarah Almand, Jan. 2, 1845. My Aunt Mary R. Rhodes was b. ca1830 in Newton Co., Georgia, to Needham and Sarah Winslow Cooke Rogers. Glad to share info with others. Please contact me directly rfrogers@netdoor.com
