I am researching my Great Great Grandfather, R A Beaty. R A Beatty was born in Ireland and came to America around late 1700 or early 1800. He was married twice (we are kin by his first marriage). His sons could not get along with their new step mother so Alford, Robert & Johnny ran away and came to Texas. Robert was 14 at the time. Robert saw his father once more when he and his daughter (Fairy Kathleen) went back to see him in 1908. The first RA Beatty was 98 years old when he died at Americus, GA (the county seat of Plains, GA. It is about 10-12 miles from Americus. R A Beatty was court clerk there for many years. RA owned 600 acres in Americus GA. This is the information relayed to me by my grandmother Fairy Kathleen Beaty Floyd Reeves before her death. Since she says she met him in 1908, I am hoping to get further information on him. My grandmothers father, Robert Abraham Beaty, born in GA in 1854, abandoned his family in Texas sometime between 1915 and 1920 and left for Mobile, Alabama where he later died. His family in Texas never saw him again, so piecing this together has been rather difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sandie Floyd Kane Sandie_Kane@hotmail.com

Looking for info on Wm RUFUS CORLEY from Rockdale county. He was born 9-24-1869, died 1-28-1829. He died in Polk County,GA, buried in Marietta with a son,LUTHER(18yr old). He had 5 children, WILLIE,SUSIE,FRANCES,VIRGIL CAIN(my father)and Luther a half brother to other siblings. I need to know who his parents were as I have his father as a RUFUS PENLEY in a family bible but on a listing I found on the ROOTSWEB he is listed as a son of TUBAL CAIN there in Rockdale with the same birth and death dates so I am confused and need some help.
