I have no celibacy fetish, cuz I'm no celibate. I merely point out - again - that the obvious result from having sex is babies (though not always) and if you do not want babies, thatabortion is a coward's way of shirking responsibility.

????? Me Jealous??? u must be joking. I am pointing out that the result of sex can be pregnancy and that abortion is an excuse for not being able to control one's desire and thus the entrance to the womb. that has nothing to do with being jealous that someone has sex. you have a very fertile mind and like to be able to saddle people with a guilt=complex about perceived jealousy. Alas for you that does not work.

Those that want to be boss of their own belly should guard the entrance better. If they cannot control the entrance, they have to put up with the results. Abortion is justanother excuse for lack of self control

Priestess, you are right. Unfortunately, there are very few people in the West who are willing to change their lifestyle. Even amongst the ecologically enlightened, there are very few who will put their money where their mouth is, except for a few largely symbolic gestures,like putting out a recycling bin.

Oh yeah, and it's the chanting of the Holy Names that is the real and only solution. By the continued awakening of Krsna consciousness all over the planet, human consciousness will uplift by osmosis, and real human beings will begin to right these gross wrongs.

I think this overpopulation idea is a big propaganda joke! It is overt greed only that is destroying the planet. For instance, our natural resources are being gobbled up by the big corporations who continually design their products to break down, causing us all to keep on buying. For another instance, it is totally unacceptable that environmentally friendly cars, heating systems and so many other things have not been developed in this age of super-technology, no excuse for it. It's all politics and money and greed. They burn the rainforests down acre by acre to use for grasing cows for McDonald's quick feeds, after one or two years of grasing, the land becomes desert and they just burn down more, not even using the trees for construction; the waste is abominable. Does everyone know that it takes 10 pounds of grain to produce 1 pound of meat for human consumption? Multiply the meat distributed and times it by nine and you will have the amount of valuable food grains which are being thrown away down the gullets of the blood-lusty. There is no reason for people to go hungry except the greedy hearts of our CEO's, coupled with the lust for sense gratification of the common man/wo. And that's not all, they are polluting our natural resources alarmingly fast and we can expect in the near future to reach a dead end point of no return, and surely much starvation will ensue. Don't believe the over-population propaganda; it is a result of big business which is destroying and otherwise wasting Krsna's energy, not mouths to feed, that is the real problem.

Let's face reality folks! The old traditional societies with their mores are vanishing rapidly. In the new world order it is the women that control the sex in any heteosexual relationship and not the men. Hence, it is the responsibility of the female gender to ensure the proper use of contraception to limit the number of offspring. The planet can only support so many human beings. The prospect of mass starvation is hardly appealing, but that is what is going to happen if the birth rate is not brought into check and ASAP! It also makes abortion a non-issue, since unwanted pregnancies would be virtually eradicated. Rapes are another matter, but we all know by know (or we should if we are educated people) that those are actually crimes of violence and not about sex at all. All of those high ideals are fine, but at some point we have to be pragmatic. All of the great leadership in the world is not going to be enough to stave off impending disaster if over-population gets any worse than it already is. In fact, for all we know it may already be too late.

Hey Sporto, they can get laid all they want. But they must recognize that they may have to pay a price for it; either syphilis, aids, gonorrhea, crabs, a kid to raise or becoming a murderer. Macho men and women should be able to deal with such a minor penalty. Now heroin, the penalties are much steeper; there their attachments are even greater and can actually lead to murdering full-grown humans not just tiny weenie ones in the womb you can't even talk to yet. And if he could be saved from the death of aids just by murdering some adult, I wouldn't put it past him. We have to give them something to love other than the genital; someone else to love other than themselves. Right now they don't see the fetus as a person any more than they see the bloody mess wrapped in cellophane in the local grocery as a cow. I call it "stupidity induced by denial". But then I guess that is the source of all ignorance.
