Is another reason that many Republicans are embarrassed that most so-called "anti-abortionists", like Elizabeth Anscombe, are against non-violent birth control to prevent abortion?

Republicans are embarrassed that these types of phony so-called "anti-abortionists" want to sacrifice fetuses to satisfy a celibacy fetish?

Republicans are embarrassed that these types of phony so-called "anti-abortionists" want to control other peoples genitalia by taking away non-violent birth control and using fetuses as hostages?

Republicans are embarrassed that these types of phony so-called "anti-abortionists" will not be satisfied until there is a police station in every vagina?

The pink prowler has his underwear in a bunch again.

The liberals like darwin are the liars.

Please explain.

Now that we have a real president, who has real cajones,

Because he eats testicles?

this bill will be sent to him and he will sign it and it will be the law of the land.

Can someone please look through these partial birth abortion websites and maybe tell us what's going on. darwin looked a bit, while a TV show about women whose entire hair and scalps were ripped off by industrial machinery and then surgically reattached played in the background. darwin can't deal with it right now.

Be careful, some of these websites are very disturbing.

One site said a doctor admitted 1,500 partial birth abortions a year at his clinic.

I believe it[the bill] passed Congress, but was vetoed by the Liar in Chief. There was not enough support from the liberal side to override the veto. This may have happened twice.

The liberals won't do anything, as that is there base of support.

Bush will sign such a bill.

A few years ago, here in the US, there were some congressional hearings about partial-birth abortion. The congress and public were told by the abortion industry that partial-birth abortions were extremely rare. (Didn't they say about 700 per year in the US?) A few months later everyone learned that they were lying. (The real number is several thousand?) It was a big scandal. The liars should have been investigated for perjury and prosecuted if the evidence was there. darwin is not sure, but he thinks allot of liberals, including congress members, were very upset about being lied to. Does anyone have any more information about all this?

Ohio Lawsuit Reveals Horrors of Partial-Birth Abortions

During a lawsuit over Ohio's ban on partial-birth abortions, an obstetrician disputed the safety of partial-birth abortions yesterday, testifying that the instruments used can endanger a woman's health.

``It's a scary process. It is painful,'' Dr. Leroy Sprang told a federal
judge hearing a pro-abortion challenge to the state's ban. ``For some, it's really severe and intense.''

Abortion advocates had testified earlier that partial-birth abortion was safer than other abortion procedures. In a partial-birth abortion, an unborn child is aborted by removing all but her head from the uterus. Scissors are then inserted into the skull, its contents are suctioned out and the skull is collapsed.

The safety of the abortion procedure may be the key factor influencing a decision by Judge Walter Rice. After pretrial hearings last year, Rice
said the law probably is unconstitutional because it would not allow partial-birth abortions to be performed when it is safer than other methods of abortion.

Sprang, who teaches obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University and is president of the Illinois State Medical Society, said a
partial-birth abortion requires a woman's cervix to be opened wider, which can take up to three days. He said metal instruments can damage the cervix, and seaweed sticks -- which are inserted because they swell with
moisture -- can cause infection.

Sprang said the abortion itself can also be risky because the abortion practitioner must use metal instruments to locate the foot of the unborn child and then turn the baby around in the uterus and remove her feet first. That can rupture the uterus and cause internal bleeding, he said. He said partial-birth abortions can jeopardize future pregnancies, is painful and increases the risk of infection. "It's a scary procedure," he
said.

Dr. Charles Ballard, chief director of gynecology at Los Angeles County,
University of Southern California Medical School, agreed with Sprang's observations. Ballard said partial-birth abortion increases the risk of rupturing the uterus and jeopardizing future pregnancies.

Sprang said a partial-birth abortion subjects the unborn child to pain and suffering and that some of the things done in it ``would probably not meet the same guidelines of what we consider appropriate treatment of
laboratory animals.''

Sprang said his state medical society, the American Medical Association and other professional medical organizations oppose partial-birth abortions and said he knows of no situation where it is medically necessary.

Meanwhile, Rein Siiner, an Akron, Ohio abortion practitioner, acknowledged in federal court that he had twice witnessed unborn children expelled
alive during the partial-birth abortion procedure. "We provided care and
comfort until they expired," he said.

The babies have tried to breath and remained alive for a time, Assistant Attorney General Karl Schedler said. ``A live delivery does happen, has happened in the past and will continue to happen,'' he said. Siiner conceded on cross-examination that he had been sued numerous times in the early 1980s for malpractice for D&E abortions he performed with forceps.

Rice, who has temporarily blocked enforcement, said he will schedule closing arguments in a few days.
