BECAUSE OF LOU, THE KID CALLS OUT A MAN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE...
Making
his way back to Sweetwater after a run, Kid is stopped by a man who tries
to steal Katie. Kid overpowers him and heads to Willow Creek, the nearest
town, to turn him in. On their way there, he comes across a posse led by
Cole Lambert, a legendary lawman. Lambert informs Kid that the man, Lloyd
Dyson, is wanted in Willow Creek for the murder of a saloon girl. The following
morning, as Kid sets off for home, Dyson is found hanging in his jail cell.
While Kid and the other riders help him spend his reward money, Emily, Dyson's daughter and his son arrive in Sweetwater en route to St. Louis. Emily informs the riders that Dyson was home the night the saloon girl was murdered. Lambert had been extorting money from Dyson, as well as the other townsfolk in Willow Creek. Dyson had refused to keep paying the marshal for his "protection." Though lacking evidence, Emily tells the boys she believes Lambert murdered her father.
Kid,
Lou, Noah, and Jimmy head to Willow Creek to find the truth behind Dyson's
death. When Kid questions the marshal, he tells him Dyson hanged himself
with his belt -- though Kid remembers the dead man had on suspenders. The
other three situate themselves among the townspeople. Jimmy finds himself
working for the marshal, while Lou takes a job at the saloon-- much to
the dismay of Kid and the amusement of the other riders.
At the saloon, Lou meets a man who witnessed the saloon girl's murder. He admits that it was Lambert and warns Lou to steer clear of him. After Lou convinces him to talk to Kid, the man is murdered by Lambert and Kid is jailed for the crime. As Lou works as a decoy to distract Lambert, the others break Kid out of jail. However, Lambert overpowers Lou and beats her. When Kid sees Lou bruised and battered, he calls Lambert out. With the aid of his friends, Kid kills Lambert and his men.
