The Exchange -- Part Two

THE GANG OF THIEVES HOLD THE TWO WOMEN CLOSEST TO THE HEARTS OF THE YOUNG RIDERS, LOU AND AMANDA...

Teaspoon learns from Redfern that Frank Pike has another camp, an old mission. Kid, Cody and Teaspoon race to the mission to try and save Amanda. Jimmy, Buck and Noah, on the other hand, parted ways with Sheriff Dooley's deputy Hank Wilkins at the Pike hanging -- not knowing that Hank arranged for Pike's escape. Pike didn't really die at his hanging because of a contraption Hank cooked up. Hank -- who calls himself the Kangaroo (because he is from Australia) -- wants to get the location of Benton's gold from Emory Pike so he can go home a hero. His plans didn't pan out, however, when Emory pushes him into a dry well and runs off.

Lou gets the letter Kid left for her. In it, he tells her that he still loves her and wants her to stay in Sweetwater where she will be safe. But Lou wants to be where the action is, so she and Ike go to Fort Laramie to meet with Jimmy and the others. Jimmy agrees to take Lou with them but the Buck and Noah persuade him to change his mind because of the possibility that none among them may come out of the fight alive. They leave Lou while she is taking care of supplies but she still manages to get into Pike's camp.

There she sees Amanda escape and then return on her own volition. When she confronts Amanda, she is told that it is all just a ploy to get Pike's trust. They are both caught, however, and Amanda -- thinking quickly -- gives up Lou to Pike.

Emory Pike is dying from a gunshot wound that Hank gave him during their struggle earlier. He takes shelter at the camp of the jeweler's daughter who had followed him since he was taken from Benton. Buck, who had befriended the girl, was able to arrest Pike.

Teaspoon sends Kid to Frank's camp to tell him about the exchange -- Pike for Amanda -- not knowing that Lou has been captured. When Kid sees Lou beaten and tied to a cross, he returns to the camp in a fury and immediately vents his anger on Jimmy. Teaspoon talks some sense into him and tells him Pike is dead. They manage to get him on his horse thought using a stiff board on his back, El Cid-style.

The riders manage to Frank's camp and a fight ensues. During the commotion, Amanda frees Lou and together they even the odds by blowing up dynamites. Kid kills Frank for hurting Lou. Amanda, on the other hand, gets Frank's half of the coin and gives it to Hank.
