TEASPOON AND THE RIDERS GO TO MEXICO TO SAVE A TOWN UNDER SIEGE BY A GANG OF THIEVES...

A gang of thieves prey on a Mexican mission, demanding the dirt farmers' silver. A priest by the name of Riley stands up against the gang and is shot in the arm. Stoltz, the leader of the gang, says he will burn a farm each day that passes until the farmers bring him their silver. Knowing the people at the mission are no match for the sinister group, Riley sends a talisman and a message to his friend, Aloysius "Teaspoon" Hunter.

Teaspoon tells the riders that Riley -- a former Texas Ranger like Teaspoon -- is as tough as they come and that for him to send for help means he is really in trouble. He deputizes Buck and takes Kid, Jimmy, Noah and Cody with him to the remote town. When they arrive, Father Riley greets them all warmly. He tells Teaspoon that the gang is after the silver the farmers were able to get from an old Spanish mine. It wasn't much but it will be able to buy the people much needed farm equipment and maybe even build a school for the children. While Father Riley was discussing plans with Teaspoon and the riders, some of the men come in and tell the "white men" that their help is unwanted and not needed. Miguel -- who was sent to fetch Teaspoon -- stands up for the riders, however, and manages to convince the people that these "white men" were good and they wouldn't steal their silver.

Later that night, while Jimmy and Noah were sleeping, two figures enter their room and attack them. The riders fight back and kill the men who turn out to be members of the gang. The riders also realize that there is a turncoat among them, when they found the backdoor wide open. The next day, they begin preparing the defenses of the town. They teach the men to shoot, while the women are taught to make bombs. Things get worse, though, when they find the mission's cannon spiked and the bombs destroyed. The culprit , Cody finds out, is the woman he is attracted to -- a young widow named Maria. The gang attack and a gunfight ensues, but the town -- aided by the riders -- fights back successfully.

There is a subplot involving the bickering team of Buck and Barnett. The two deputies try to save a young woman from an amorous mountain man.
