Final Fantasy 5 Review
Final Fantasy 5, never was released in the North America until now. After waiting a "few" years, we finally get it. That is unless you have been playing the ROM version. I once owned this game, but it was in Japanese. So, was this game really worth the long wait?

Final Fantasy 5 didn't have the most impressive of graphics (They were about the same as Final Fantasy 4), but it didn't really matter at the time it was rereleased. And if you plan on buying it now, remember that there is nothing different about the Super Famicom version. There are just a couple FMVs and that's about it.

The sound factor of a game isn't too important, but it adds and environment to the game. Final Fantasy 5 doesn't have music as impressive as Final Fantasy 6, but it has it's good music. Take for example the Battle with Gilgamesh, it was plain cool. And so was Exdeath. There is some more good music, but I won't take my time to list them.

Probably the greatest of all features in this game is the magical job system. Revived from the title that received no recognition in North America (Final Fantasy 3, the original for the NES), it makes great impact on the game. Without it, Final Fantasy 5 would't be worth it. So why is so good? If you've played Final Fantasy Tactics you would know. You can pick the characters field of specialty (Knight, Archer, Monk, Dancer, Summoner, and so on...) and then you can allow them to learn abilities. You can also put abilities from one job onto another to get some sort of "mix." This really adds to the game.

The story of the game wasn't so incredibly great, in fact, it reminded me of the first Final Fantasy. Your objective is to save these four crystals. Pretty plain, isn't it? Even so, this "Four Crystals" thing only lasts until about 1/3 through the game. I wouldn't want to spoil the story.

So what's it like overall? It's got it's strong points and weak points. The character design is nothing special either. The characters look too ordinary. Yet it has the beloved job system. I also thought this game was harder then some of the other Final Fantasy games.
