Butz was just camping out with his Chocobo when he suddenly hears a meteor crash. He checks it out and finds an injured girl named Lenna being atacked by monsters. Butz saves the girl and see an injured man. He helps him out too. His name is Galuf, and he now has amnesia dues to the impact of the crash. Lenna was on a search to find her father who had left because he believed that the Wind Crystal was having problems. He never returned, and that is why Lenna left. Butz, Lenna, and Galuf are now going on a journey to protect the crystals.
