There was a sighting by three crew members on the USS Supply 300 miles west of San Francisco, reported by Lt. Frank Schofield, later to become Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Battle Fleet. Schofield wrote of three bright red egg-shaped and circular objects flying in echelon formation that approached beneath the cloud layer, then changed course and "soared" above the clouds, departing directly away from the earth after two to three minutes. The largest had an apparent size of about six suns.

Boris Surikov and his commander, Major Bajenov during a mission to Romania to bomb oil refineries used by the Germans encountered a large elliptical-shaped object that flew towards them. Felt strong electrostatic charge as it passed and disappeared. Wings covered in electrical discharges.
"It lit up the air around it. It looked like a localized sunset, but in the center was a strange-looking flying object."
Scientist opinion: Possibility the electrification of the plane was due to the close proximity of the UFO's propulsion system which ionized the atmosphere.

The six F6F "Hellcats" made visual contact with the object described as the size of three aircraft carriers side by side, oval shaped, very streamlined like a stretched-out egg and pinkish in color. The witness who filed this report said that some kind of vapor was being emitted around the outside edges from portholes or vents.

Antonio Villas-Boas. A brilliant beam of light shining down from the sky. The object, shaped like a large elongated egg, had landed on three metal legs. A rotating cupola on top of the craft changed from red to green as it decelerated. Three spikes protruded from from the front of the object, illuminated by red phosophorescence of a front headlight. It was shapped somewhat like a large football, about 150 feet long and forty feet high. Surrounded by a white glow. Red lights glowed from each end. At times five white lights became visable between them. Patrol car encountered radio interference when object came near . The object was sweeping the ground and sky with a beam of red light.
Sharply-defined, egg-shaped UFO. Straight, multiclored rays extended backward in a V-formation from the front of the object. The colors changed continually but were predominantly green, red and blue. The object itself was reddish it left behind an orange trail which resembled a straight , hollow tube similar to a neon light. Suddenly, the front and rear of the UFO split, each one identical to the original object they had been. As the objects changed from red to blue-and-white, they increased in brightness.
One object shaped like a circle from below and like a football from the side, hovered low over the observers, making a deep, pulsating, loud, extremely irritating sound, for 6 minutes.

Pilot of a Piper Cherokee 235 flying over La Veta Pass, encounters a large (approx size of DC3), metallic stainless steel colored, elongated spherical object. Object paces aircraft and then comes within 50' of his right wing. Pilot banked hard to avoid collision.
The objects to the north appeared to be elliptical though an 8-12 power lens. They then turned to full circles.

Gary Fortenberry and Jimmy Bumgarner, two employees at the McGuire Nuclear Station were driving to work on Highway 73 at the Catawba River(Lincoln County) when they watched a dull silver oval UFO with "four legs" above a nearby fogbank.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ruppe. They looked out of their house windows in time to see a glowing oval-shaped UFO about 20 feet above their neighbor's home. The UFO, described as "about the size of a Winnebago travel-trailer" had two "beams of lights" on the bottom of the object.
It was orange-yellow in color and made a high-pitched sound as it crossed the power lines and moved east in direction of the Cherokee Nuclear Station. The UFO was seen for approximately five minutes and was estimated to be about 20 feet long and 8 to 10 feet in height.

Metallic oval-shaped object, small lights around the perimeter that changed color from blue to red and back to blue. At the front was a window or porthole of some kind. Witness heard (was awakened before the sighting by) a throbbing sound. The object rose slightly and the sound coming from it changed.
Sitting perfectly still in the sky was a huge, about 300 feet long, silver oval shaped something! It looked to be less than 1000 feet away and was about 50 feet thick. The top of this thing had a reddish glow, and the whole thing had markings or corrugations on it, it reminded me of the old Jiffypop popcorn dome. This thing made no noise and did not move while we were watching. There were no control surfaces or any kind of cabin or gondola visible, and I could see the entire length of it, no ropes or wires either.
The next day, I drove past the little pond and noticed a round hole in the ice, where the thing was hovering. I also noticed a rash on the side of my body that burned and itched for several days, it also hurt, like I had been kicked.
