Golf belt loops
Remember the belt loops are for the scout doing their best to learn about the sport or academic activity, and by putting the new techniques to practice with fellow scouts, in their community, or working with an adult. No specific requirements are usually listed in the booklets. The check list is only a guide.
To earn the belt loop:
_____1. List the equipment needed to play golf.
_____2. Know the difference between the different types of clubs and how to choose which club to use.
_____3. Understand the rules of safety and etiquette for playing golf.
_____4. Know how to place a golf ball on a tee.
_____5. Draw a golf hole, identifying a fairway, rough, water hazard, bunkers, sand traps and flagstick.
_____6. Know the basic rules of playing golf.
_____7. Demonstrate:
__ grip a golf club __ proper stance __ proper address __ swing and follow through
_____8. Play a game of golf (miniature golf will qualify) using your knowledge of rules and proper technique.
_____9. Demonstrate good sportsmanship while participating in the sport.
I certify that ___________________________ has completed the minimum requirements to receive the belt loop.
