Remember the belt loops are for the scout doing their best to learn about the sport or academic activity, and by putting the new techniques to practice with fellow scouts, in their community, or working with an adult. No specific requirements are usually listed in the booklets. The check list is only a guide.

To earn the belt loop:

_____2. List the necessary equipment.

_____3. Learn and practice the following skills:

__ overhand throw __ sidearm throw __ underhand throw __ catching a thrown ball __ relay throw
__ fielding a ball __fielding a popup

_____4. Learn how to pitch:

__ gripping the ball __ stance __ throwing

_____5. Learn how to catch:

_____6. Learn how to hit:

__ gripping the bat __ stance __swing

_____7. Learn base running.

_____8. Be able to explain the defensive positions.

_____9. Practice with a team.

_____10. Play a game against another team.

_____11. Demonstrate good sportsmanship while participating in this sport.
