American Flag Quilt

I made this lap quilt for Tighe's Dad, who really loves Americana and the American Flag. I tried to make it to scale - the stripes and the blue field are to scale. I chose a blue fabric that had stars on it, because I couldn't have appliqued the stars in time for Christmas!

You can get an idea of the size - here it is layed accross a sofa.

I sewed a tough canvas strip on the side that would have been strung on a flag pole, for a little oomph of realism. The backing has an all over American Bald headed Eagle print, since Al also likes eagles.
