My weigh-in on 1/21/04 showed that I was seven pounds up from my last weigh-in. I had a body composition test, but my nutritionist did not have my records, nor could he find the results from my previous test. So that we could compare the numbers and see if I had gained muscle, fat, or water. However, this recent test said that my target weight is 350 lbs and that I have 197 lbs left to lose. The test that was done in July 03 was taken on a different machine and the numbers do not make any sense compared to the recent test. But it does reveal to a degree, that I have gained muscle mass. Since my target weight was 335 lbs back then. I am very disappointed that my records were not put into my files. It is critical info and the only physical evidence there is to measure success or failure. My Doctor was up beat and told me not to worry about the numbers. I have had a lot of success in a small amount of time and my body will need to re-adjust to all the changes that have taken place. Meanwhile, I have increased my stamina, endurance, and activity level. My clothes continue to show that I have lost inches and there is physical evidence that I have trimmed down.
I did slip a little between the 22nd and 28th of January by not keeping a food diary. I did not eat any differently and did not binge. I had Chinese food one night after going most of the day without eating much at all. That stuff is full of fat and salt. So I know that I was a little naughty that time. I also let things go on Super Bowl Sunday, but I am back on track now. I am over the half waypoint and it is getting harder to stay the course. My calorie intake is slowly being decreased and my activity level continues to increase. Sooner or later I will see the numbers on the scale go down again. But this is getting harder without a doubt, my resolve and determination are more important now than ever before. I am thankful of my wife, family, and close friends for their continued support and encouragement. I really do need it. It helps a great deal to have people rooting you on, and keeping you motivated. I couldn't do it without you guys. Shawna, Lou, and Randy are my support team on a daily basis and I love them for it!
This years goals include breaking 100 on the golf course and walking the front nine at Battle Creek. Also, I would like to get into a 5XL shirt size. I am in a 7XL now and closing in on 6XL. Getting rid of my seatbelt extension in the car is on the list as well.
