Back to Journal Page

I just got done watching the Oprah show, it was about people that had lost massive amounts of weight. I am feeling a little emotional about some of the things that I heard these people relate to. They spoke about getting their lives back and that is something that means the world to me. One guy lost over 560 pounds and had to have the stomach bypass surgery to lose it. His was a case that truly was the last resort. He didn't want to live anymore and didn't care if he woke after the surgery or not. He was bedridden for over 20 years and couldn't walk or even get out of bed anymore. It was very sad to hear his story as it hit closet too close to my own. I have never felt like giving up on life, but life was very difficult for me and I couldn't do a lot of the everyday things people take for granted. I am even more inspired today than I was yesterday.

I hit a small bucket of balls yesterday at the golf course driving range. I noticed that I have more stamina and no back pain today. I feel like if I can continue to work on hitting the ball straight and learn the distance of the clubs that I can be playing the nine-hole par three course this spring.
