Comments: "I have been using BJU Spelling for my 2nd grader.  I love it.  A beka Spelling was way too much for us and did not seem to teach the spelling rules.  Every day is something different for the student.  Day 1 is a pre-test to see what words he already knows and then the Spelling lesson.  Day 2 consists of 2 pages in the workbook that can be done independently.  Day 3 is a practice test and study time.  Day 4 is journal day.  Day 5 is test day and they also learn about the Latin and Greek roots of a word found in the Bible. They then are given three verses to look up and read and discuss.  It has been a blessing for us and I was able to get it used off the Vegsource Board!"

Comments: "I really like the BJU Science program. It has the hands-on approach, complete with experiments, that I think help children grasp concepts, but with all the planning and sequencing done. It breaks the subject matter up into manageable pieces for each week. Several children can work at the same grade if there is no more than 3-4 years age difference. I also have to say ditto to Jenn's comments about the BJU Writing and Grammar. I think the A beka is very heavy on the seatwork and it might overwhelm an unknowing new timer, but the BJU has just enough material to cover the concepts without overtaxing the student or teacher."

Comments: "We've used BJU English for about 12 years. The younger grades have lots of color and neat activities to do. The older grades hit all of the topics you need for grammar and composition without being too overwhelming (as we found A bekas was)."
