Comments: "I have been using several of the Great Source books over the last three years, and have found them interesting, with brightly-colored illustrations that are age-level appropriate. The system is easy to use, and inexpensive. The Language Arts curriculum includes the Writer's Express and Write Source 2000 books, which are becoming more popular each year.  The series usually uses a handbook that is used for more than one year, and a consumable "Sourcebook" or workbook that reinforces the grammar lessons in the book.  The handbooks are really more like guide books, and they are an excellent resource on their own, even if you don't use the sourcebooks.  My children refer to their handbooks for all kinds of writing assignments.  I also used their spelling program for Grade 1, and found it to be equally well-done.  We also have their Math Counts handbook - it is an excellent guidebook/reference book for everything math, from basic addition to high-school level geometry. They usually offer more than one way to solve a kind of problem.  My son uses this to refresh his memory about how to do a math computation or concept that he hasn't used for a while, or to learn a different way of looking at a math concept. For the price, these are wonderful resources no matter what curriculum you use.  This past year, we used their American Government course for high school credit and found it thorough and interesting. These books are available through most of the homeschool catalogs, as well as directly from the website.  But they are not working too well with homeschoolers right now, so be sure and ask about their current policy before ordering!!"

*note 3/03 - I have been contacted by a Great Source representative who says the company will review their policies and try to make it easier for homeschoolers to obtain their materials. Greta
