Digging through the archives of the old back-up cdrom, I found a half-baked Christmas modpack. After reworking things a bit and adding a number of units, it appears to be quite possible and could be finished rather quickly.

The SCENARIO:

"The North Pole has melted and Santa needs a new pad pretty fast. The only choice is the South Pole. But now the Christmas francise is up for grabs and the Jack Skelington, Scrooge, and The Grinch all want a piece of the action. Santa has to get on the ball and completely rebuild, but not without his arch nemeses to compete. Your job is take out the competition with candy, toys and Christmas spirit."

FEATURES:

  • 40 new units
  • All new icons
  • Memorable terrains from the Antarctica and Santa Modpacks
  • New sounds
  • New Rules
  • All new scenario play
  • Plus - Bonus Essay on the making of CivChristmas with commentary by the author

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
posted by CivPartisan at Thu, 23, November 2006 01:02:41

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. For those who do not know what this holiday is, it remembers the generous Native Americans who helped the first pilgrims and pioneers who were unable to take care of themselves. These tribes brought a bounty of corn, potatoes, beans, cranberries, venison, pumpkins, squash as well as blankets, furs, stone tools, and crafted leathers. In return the pilgrims invited them to dinner. In celebration, CPH is offering these Civilization 2 Units to help you celebrate. It has become tradition in America to eat a turkey on Thanksgiving. Well, since the American poultry industry has been using growth hormones to grow these turkeys faster and keep up with the demand, some of them have jumped millions of years of evolution to become smarter, faster and stronger. Well, see for yourself:

TURKEY ELITE FORCES

Download by using right-click and selecting save as. There is a text file too.

I'm calling these the Turkey Elites. My personal favorite is the M.A.S.H. Turkey (#9)but the grenade turkey (#6) is cool too. I have not made any sound files for these (I might in the future). I've also included a recommended set of stats and names for the Turkeys but you can of course treat them as you like.

Happy Holidays! Enjoy!

Civilization & Colonization Pages Updated!!!   posted by CivPartisan at Wed, 15, November 2006 11:26:14

More links have been added and the page has been cleaned up a bit for the DOS version of Civilization here at CPH. These were previous links that appeared before on the main page. Go here or click the pic to the left. I will probably add more next weekend.

I've also taken the time to add some cheats to the Colonization DOS  section. These cheats are a little treat that I came across and felt that these also make great hints and tips which might help tweak the game the way you like.

You can check it out here or click on the pic to the right ---------->

Note: Don't forget with the holidays coming up, you can buy many of Sid Meier's games on ebay, half.com or Amazon.com.
