Update: Colonization Section 11-04-2006
posted by CivPartisan at Sun, 04, November
2006 01:14:34
The Colonization section has
all of its pages and now CPH has two
CSA sections up and running. Of
course, these are the beta pages and they will be increased
in size once all of the pages are up in the
Civilization Series
Archive section. Currently, save games,
maps, screenshots, manual scans, covers and so forth of any
kind for all sections will continue to be accepted on an
ongoing basis.
The Civ II
section is next--and there are a load of downloads that will
be placed in the beta pages so it will be a massive under
taking over the next couple of weeks. Site stats are
growing, and so is the site. Over 2000 hits since September
1, 2006. Special thanks to contributors and
visitors--without you, CPH wouldn't be as big as it is
today!

Atari
continues to offer some support pages for Sid
Meier's Colonization game. With 5-6 links (3 or 4
of them just refer within one page) there are a whopping 2
downloads: a patch for Windows
95 and a version
3.0 patch. But this is a valiant effort
for infogames considering so many games from the
early 1990's simply have no commercial support pages. It
is clear that no real interest in supporting this game for
furthing operating systems such as XP exists, but the use
of DOSBOX
can solve that problem.
PREVIEW
UPDATE: Modpacks in the
preview section have not had any new screenshots added, but
I assure you that there is progress.
The Ancient Mars scenario is finally getting a
map and events. The map is being constructed from an actual
topographical map of Mars (as it was before it was lost when
my hard drive crashed some years ago). The events will
include a separated slate of gameplay for each
civilization--if you play the Science Priests, your
experience will be different from the Archivists and so on.
This is to give the scenario a greater
replayability.
The
Civilization Series Archives continues to
grow. The Colonization
section is expected to be completed this weekend
with additional updates being pushed back yet until the end
of November. News will always continue on a weekly basis,
but the need to push back the archives launch is a necessary
one not an empty promise. I recently expanded the bandwidth
and I am now supporting the site more because more visitors
have showed up. Henceforth, you're making the site better,
just by being here. Keep up the good work and to all many
thanks for sharing the good cheer!
...and don't
forget...
