Article Critiques- Become A Regular Reviewer

We believe our points system and critique page make our site unique, and we enjoy the fact that there are so many differing opinions. Please keep reviews concise, no more than 50 words are necessary. Make reading and writing the reviews part of your weekly routine. We think you will enjoy it. If your critique did not make it this week, check back with us next Friday. We try to run only 30 a week and that makes us about 10 days behind.
If you read a review below and want to go to that article, simply use the freefind search engine at the top left of this page. Either write in the author's name or title of the submission and it will take you to it.

CRITIQUE OF THE WEEK

********************************

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = On Ghostly Grounds- Chapter 1 by Eric Rodriguez
Points = 3 points
opinion of the submission and author = I think this first chapter just doesn't live up to its preface, but I have found that with great novels the first few chapters are that way, so who says the next chapter will be the same. Personally, I found it a little hard to follow. Overall it is well written, and hopefully the chapters that follow live up to the preface and not this chapter.

********************************

name = Lisa Ferrer
Poem_author = Visions by Pam Newton
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = This poem was well wriiten, and I can fully understand exactly what the author is saying about her visions. A wonderful poem!

name = Suzanna Crean
Column_author = Blue Reincarnation Yustas Kotz-Gottlieb
Points = 5 points
opinion of the column and author = Sounds like Narcissus was self-absorbed to the max. You have some interesting insights into art...obviously. I have never seen the painting, but your descriptions of it engendered a vivid mind picture. It was almost as if I could see it...and that's a talent in itself. What do you do? Teacher? Critic? Artist? I've been enthralled by so-called Pagan mythology since I was a child, so the subject matter of the painting you're discussing interested me. Add to this the fact that art is my first love, and I'm one of those people with what I suppose you could call "native talent"...like my mama stuck a crayon in my hand, and I drew something rather than making the mess most kids make. I live and work in a place where the most common interests are fishing, car racing, and swapping recipes. We're talking Redneck City, here. I'm always fascinated when I discover somebody who is more on the same wave link with me. It's great to know there are people out there who can be interested in something besides each other.

name = Seth Caldwell
Column_author = Blue Reincarnation by Yustas Kotz-Gottlieb
Points = 5 points
opinion of the column and author = Where may I see one of these paintings? Are they conceptual images that you write into imagination, or actual paintings? They interest me very much. Either you take them utterly seriously, or you have mastered the art of flabbergasting. Either way, it is very interesting for me to read.

name = Alice C. Bateman
Poem_author = January by Edie Miller
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = Wow, Edie, a very heavy poem, but with the absolutely right message. The only thing you'd have to do to carry on unhaunted is to mentally call up this person in your life, say 'I release you from my life and consciousness, I am free of you' and release them. Excellent work, thank you! I hope you become a regular!

name = Kim
Submission_author = On Ghostly Grounds- Forward to Novel by Eric Rodriguez
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = Wow, I was on pins and needles, i can not wait to read more!

name = Kit
Column_author = Blue Reincarnation by Yustas Kotz-Gottlieb
Points = 5 points
opinion of the column and author = Replying only because of the inspirational concepts translated here for me in blues. Being a National Accredited Flower show judge and telling the story of the Narcissus many times I found with great interest this article you sent. I knew that I had your name written among Favorites for a reason although it has been some time since I read your last article. I must say I feel a definite lack of knowledge when reading such an articulatly written article.

name = Jenn
Poem_author = A Simple Handshake- Chapter 1 by Alice Bateman and Clive Michie
Points = 4 points
opinion of the submission and author = A collaberation, eh? What makes you think you're good enough to write with my mother?! LOL I kid. This is a very good book so far. I can't wait for the rest!

name = Gary Gordon
Narrative_author = Home Alone by Bob Schackner
Points = 5 points
opinion of the narrative and author = Nice writing there, Mr Schnacker (d'oh!) Colorful, witty, and easy to identify with...all in all - a very enjoyable little trip. Thanks and Keep up the good work.

name = Jessica Sayer

name = Wendell
Poem_author = Visions by Pam Newton
Points = 5 points

Points = 4 points
opinion of the submission and author = This poem is very interest and very well written. What more is there to say.

name = Karen Burton
Submission_author = The Black Box by Eric Rodriguez
Points = 5 points

name = Jessica Sayer
Submission_author = The Roll by R.L. Walker
Points = 5 points
opinion of the poem and author = That poem was funny, but I think R.L. Walker has a issue with the bathroom :P. Another funny poem to give you a new look on the bathroom.

name = Bette
Poem_author = A Simple Handshake- Chapter 1 by Alice Bateman and Clive Michie
Points = 5 points

name = Lisa Ferrer
Poem_author = Pain by Dianne Mary Hamilton
Points = 3 points
opinion of the poem and author = The poem is good and I understood exactly what your talking about but.. the word one, ones is used too much in the first verse.

name = Mike Winters
Poem_author = A Simple Handshake- Chapter 1 by Alice Bateman and Clive Michie
Points = 5 points
opinion of the submission and author = Absolutely astounding!! :)

name = Derek Bracer
Narrative_author = Blood, Sweat, and Tears by Patti Dinneen
Points = 5 points
opinion of the narrative and author = Another humorous story by Ms. Dinneen. I certainly can follow her realism in her stories and the humor adds to my enjoyment. Nicely done.

name = Ken Bushnell
Submission_author = You've Got Mail, Baby! by Sarah Gibson
Points = 4 points
opinion of the submission and author = Brilliant thought processes. Explosive potential.

name = Ken Bushnell

name = Ken Bushnell
Story_author = I Know Which Road I Will Choose by Bill Keenan
Points = 4 points
opinion of the story and author = Interesting abstract analogy.

name = Ken Bushnell
Narrative_author = Duck, Duck Goose, Goose by Bob Schackner
Points = 5 points
opinion of the narrative and author = You handle, what is now commonly foreign terminology, hunting, or I mean you're able to inject it into your article, with ease. Well done. Or was it medium rare?

name = Ken Bushnell
Narrative_author = Home Alone by Bob Schackner
Points = 4 points
opinion of the narrative and author = Wonderfully imaginative. I particularly enjoyed the brief introduction to your kids - 'sup' with Sharkbait and Punkin.
