Pele's League Week 11 Review -
November 13th As we got past Week 11 in Pele's League, four teams have already been eliminated from a chance of getting the championship trophy. The Sao Paulo Golpes Baixos avoided elimination by beating the city rival Sao Paulo CCM, 75.5-47, thanks to QB Brett Favre, RB Eddie George and the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. The Golpes Baixos (4-7) must win all their games and hope for some very favorable results to win the championship. The CCM (3-8), unfortunately, is out of the championship race. The Sao Paulo Hard Plays survived a scary one, defeating the Cortland, NY Gradams Greats by only six points, 56-50. With this win, the Hard Plays (9-2) remain in second place, only a game behind the leader. They got this win on Monday Night, as RB Garrison Hearst rushed for some yards and a TD (9 points), helping they pull out a come from behind victory. As for the Greats (3-8), they now have no mathematical chances to be champion of the league. The PIMP C's REAL G's upset the Oporto Eagles in a low scoring game, 33-25. The REAL G's counted with 10 points from their QB, Drew Bledsoe, but most of all, they counted with some bad performances from some Eagles players, like their QB, Vinny Testaverde (minus-4 points), and Ricky Watters (minus-1). With the win, the REAL G's improved to 6-5, tying with the same Eagles (6-5) for 4th place in the league, two games behind third place. The Ithaca Isolators got themselves one more win, this time over the Randolph Blue Devils, 37-24. With their Raider Attack, the Isolators (8-3) have one of the more powerful offenses in the league, but this week they were very lucky, as Oakland struggled badly. The difference in the game was the Isolators Defensive Players, Darrien Gordon, who returned two punts for TD's (12 points). The Blue Devils (3-8) are officially out of the championship race. And, in the last game of the week, the Sao Paulo 55ers maintained first place position by putting up some very good numbers in a 82-47 victory over the San Juan Coquis. The 55ers (10-1) benefited from their Broncos Defense (amazing 30 points), WR Antonio Freeman (12 points), and RB Natrone Means (8 points). Despite a 16-point performance by RB Karim Abdul-Jabbar, the Coquis (3-8) couldn't match the high-scoring effort by the 55ers, so they dropped their third game in a row - and now the don't have any more chances of being champion of the league
