I walked by the Old Lumber River today
And I considered all the beauty there
Such a Peaceful PLace--it trully was
Far removed from a World hard to bear
The River flows slowly much like "TIME"
So go the days of our lives here below
I came to the River to gain Renewal today
For I love this Old River So
The natives once camped by these Banks
When Man and nature found "Harmony"
There's richness and beauty in Days gone by
And the Lumbee--they were so "free"
I'm going home one day unto the Sun
I will follow my God then you'll see
I'll find the Eternal Waters and River of Life
And like the Lumbee--I will be "free"
LIKE THE LUMBEE, I WILL BE FREE
