Winter Thoughts...
I remember the lessons my Father taught...
|
Fresh fallen snow
Crackling fireplace
Winter in wonderland
Cabin by the creek
A deer timidly walks the creek
A cold drink of water
Search for plants
Survival in wonderland
A rabbit hops along
Stopping, listening, looking
Searching the snow for
Something to stop the hunger
Another eight inches by mourning
Covering with a fresh blanket
Chopping more wood
Keeping the home fires burning

This story is dedicated the rugged people who live in the mountains.
|
To live off the land, as our fathers have taught is a dying art...
