As I walk along the stream
The solitude of peace fills my soul
Life running slowly toward the sea
The smell of the forest fills my head
I hear a noise, I pause, very still
Through the plants and trees, a deer
A doe, timid and wary
Don't be afraid, I am one with the forest
I see a beaver swimming
In the silent pool under the falls
Building its home, gathering twigs
Persistently working to complete its goal
I see a mother duck and her little ones
The law of nature is strong
Survive at all costs
As she teaches them the lessons of life
People have lost their instincts
Survival of the bean counters
The golden rule is all they know
He who has the gold rules
But I am rich beyond measure
My stream, my plants, my trees, my rocks
My deer, my beaver, my ducks, my fish, my birds
I am one with the forest, nature is in me
