I don't know if I should admire folks who blog several times a day. There are some ones that I'm glad are around, Crooks & Liars, Daily Kos, et al. But life goes in cycles and lately I just haven't had much to say. If this were a journal-type thing then I could drather on about stuff no one cares about, (as opposed to what usually goes here), but right now I don't have a lot of new stuff happening upstairs...things seem kinda muddy and I haven't been able to quite figure out what the heck is going on.

The War Criminal is tumbling and there really hasn't been any reaction on the pseudo-left that has impressed me...and I'm tired of bitching about them. They're not going to get changed from the inside and most folks don't (or refuse) to see the value in looking outside the Democratic Party. So the only thing I would have to say about it is what I've already been whining about for a while.

The government has stopped being so bold and is now doing all of their facist crap more discreetly. In theory, The War Criminal has 2-3 years left in office, there will definitely be a pendulum swing then if not in the 2006 elections then things may go fairly back to where it was when Clinton was God...which means our expectations are pretty f-ing low for our leaders. But before you get to that there is one thing that has to be taken care of that not enough people are talking about or dealing with...

The facist right has control of the voting machines. They've set it up so that they control the election outcomes...there are third world countries that have cleaner elections than we do. And the press doesn't cover it enough and people just accept it...there should be rioting in the streets over this...this is democracy...voting...and the so-called "patriots" have co-opted it. Until someone who isn't evil gets a handle on this it's not going to matter what the polls say or what reforms are enacted.

OK, a few weeks ago (!) I promised something in a lighter vein...let's get to it. One of the bewildering things that brought people to this site was the pictures I posted of the lovely and talented Biba. I wouldn't call her the Anna Kornikova of table tennis, because I think she may actually win on occassion, but she's the reigning hottie of ping pong. So I told this story how there were "Biba, Marry Me" signs at this tournament held up by...uh...people who need to get out more often...and it drove people to whitee.com. In the words of Jerry Seinfeld:

Who are these people?

So here are some gratutous pictures of Biba Golic:
The glorious BibaAll Hail Biba!Biba, Marry Me!

Well, that's enough of that.

Go Dems...Go Dems...Go Dems!

Pussies.

Oh, and I got another so-called survey that's really an ask for money from the Democratic National Committee. Appearently, my last rant I sent them didn't stick. I may have to come up with something different this time. Stay tuned.

Well, don't get too moist about the alleged "backbone" the Democrats have found lately. This is ridiculous. Democratic Congressman John Murtha is calling for immediate withdrawl of troops from Iraq. While I'm not a fan of polls, numbers are showing that well over 50% of Americans want us out - it may be over 60% by now. And yet...

Although Murtha joins a growing list of pro-war Democrats that have reversed their positions, Democratic Congressional leaders distanced themselves from Murtha’s stance. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said: "Mr. Murtha speaks for himself," while Senate Minority Harry Reid added: "I don't support immediate withdrawal." From Democracy Now

Pathetic.

Another thought that's been going through my mind lately is, when we finally get rid of the War Criminal...when the pendulum swings the other way and we have a Democratic President in 2008...which is probably going to happen. WC & company have fucked up too much. So when this turnaround comes...what are the new lefty pundits going to do? What is Air America, et al going to be like? I mean, they've really gotten back on the Bill Clinton is God kick lately...if that's their high standard we're all doomed to mediocrity.

Good Book Alert: Go get yourself Cornell West's Democracy Matters. You'll be glad you did.

Nice...Dick Cheney giving a speech at Arlington Cemetary for Veteran's Day. Hey Sparky, other than send other people's kids to war and push for toruture of citizens all over the world, what connection do you have to veterans? They should have risen up and kicked your f-ing ass. That goes for The War Criminal's talk in Pennsylvania as well. You can both kiss my ass.

The election's over and another spanking has been dished out. I'm going to seem like a bit of a narcissistic contrarian on this, but progressives around the country have been rejoicing over the past month...I'm not so joyous. Big surprise, huh?

Crumbs...we're getting all moist over crumbs. Let me just take a second and put all of this in perspective. All the crap going on with The War Criminal & Co...no one's in jail yet. Justice has not been served so chill. And if anything has been shown it's that these neo-cons don't care about public perception. The War Criminal will pardon everyone who has been loyal to him. That means, yes, these people will no longer be in governmental positions, but they're not going to jail and will just be going to lucrative jobs in the marketplace...still screwing you & me, but not using the government to do it.

Meanwhile, this anti-Bush crap in the media is just a passing phase...journalistic lemmings congratulating each other for finally doing their jobs. Meanwhile, countless people have needlessly died and billions of dollars wasted on their watch. Congratulations.

Then there are those in the lefty media...especially on the radio. You can virtually hear these people peeing their pants in delight over the administration's troubles.

[In an amusing aside: a couple of Air America personalities have actually started this Nader cost Gore the election crap again. It's amusing becuase both are entertainers who masquerade as news people. There's enough on the web to show these dummies that they don't know what they're talking about. Go here for a quick primer.]

My message to these folks is to stay focused. Nothing of any real consequence has happened to any of these people yet. Use this opportunity to work for real, systematic reforms. Right now, they're going on the air and writing articles that are just big na-na-nyah-nyah-na-fests.

Another example...yesterday's elections. Yes, Democrats seemed to have more victories than Republicans. And Arnie's ballot initiatives were all defeated. But again, this really doesn't mean much. Nothing was really gained, only stuff wasn't lost. Some of these radio folks have been begging for Al Gore to run in 2008 and literally saying how Clinton was a great president. Jeez, look how low the War Criminal have dropped our expectations. Look, I realize that a paper cut is not as bad as having my finger chopped off, but I don't want either one.

I haven't been much of an online presence (or offline for that matter) lately because I've been working on a friend's campaign for local office. Third party, of course. We easily had the best canidate of the three. The Republican was a classic follow-the-republican-herd guy. The Democrat was an embarrassment. The local dems should have run no one. We picked up endorsments all over the place, raised a ton of money, hit the streets like a mother. We ran a smarter, quicker, progressive campaign. Of course we got the crap beat out of us. People continue to vote against their own interests.

My reaction this year is a little bit different. While I've spent the last year or so overcommitted to this campaign and the result was not what we expected...I will never...ever give up the fight to change the system. I will never give these bloodsuckers the satisfaction. My strategies & tactics may have to change, but I will never stop. I will not be satisified with going back to a Clintonian World...I fought that as well. When all is said and done I will say that I did the best I could do make this world a better place.

Having said all that...I'm going to get stinking drunk all weekend. I'll save the world on Monday.

I promise more light-hearted faire is coming.
