Sorry I haven't been able to post lately. Just about every moment I've been able to get on a computer has been spent on campaign stuff. No, I'm not running for anything again, but I
am running someone else's campaign for local office. All the petitioning is done and I thought things would get easier...wrong. Though, I am enjoying it, the only things I've done the past week or so has been eat, sleep, campaign. Picked up the guitar maybe twice.
Though in Whitee news: I decided to make
Tasty Beverage a plain old accoustic song. I'm too damn white to do reggae. And the reason is not important, but in the next couple of days I'm hoping to do a home demo of one of the new songs. It may sound like crap, but...um...I don't care. Don't listen to it if you don't like it. (I'm such a salesman)
So, this has to be short as well, but I will leave you with a little treat. One of the latest things going around the internet is kinda cool. It's not a big phenomenon - if people go to something after searching for the same words it shows up on Google more prominently, or something like that.
Anyway, this is what pops up number one when you Google the words
miserable failure. Karma's a bitch.

I've said a few times that we're going to need to hit rock bottom before there's any real change. I mean, permanent, systematic change. I'd like to think we've gotten there, but history has shown that it's probably the pendulum starting to swing the other way. Which means things may be changing, but eventually it will change back. There's still a butt-load of work to do, but it's a start. All the dummies in power have been taking too much for granted and now there are people starting to fight back a bit...such as:
It looks like some mainstream media is starting to hammer away at the War Criminal and the war. I saw on NBC's Nightly News a report showing how
invading Iraq has actually increased the number of terrorists. And I stumbled upon CNN's upcoming documentary about the so-called
intellegence breakdown on the never-existing WMD's in Iraq.
Why this is starting to happen, I'll get to it in a minute.
But the stuff happening over in Gaza...an absolutely perfect point made
by Jonathan Steele in the Guardian. Recently, there was no warning or remunerations for Palestinians who were
forced out of their homes in the Gaza Strip only minutes before they were bulldozed. Yep. That's gonna be interesting.
I will say this. The UN (notice I said the UN, not the US) should tell the Palestinians to control those dudes in Hamas - that if there is any attack on Israel...any shenanigans, the UN sends in troops. This is the best opportunity we have to get real peace going there and we can't let some knuckleheads screw it up.
I mentioned earlier that some cats in the GOP are a little worried about the 2006 congressional elections. Paul Krugman's right on target when he warns us that
this worry is only going to cause them to steal more elections. People with a hint of interest in Democracy need to start getting their act together. Making this whole process as transparent as possible is going to be the only way to combat this crap.
And while both are a couple of sell-out MF'ers, John "I ain't that baby daddy" McCain and the Clintonbagger went up to Alaska and were
shocked at the effect of global warming...as if they had just heard about it now. Asses. You know they aren't going to do doody...oh, yes they will. Blah, blah, blah...
OK...let's get down to it. Cindy Sheehan. Well, she's left Tex-ass for a bit because her Mom had a stroke. Bad for the mom, good for the movement. Other "moms" have stepped up to keep the campaign in Crawford going. When asked if she was going to follow the War Criminal back to Washington in September, Sheehan said that the movement was going to - and she is going to be there, but not "24/7". That is a real movement. It's not just Cindypalooza. That is what's going to sustain this and continue building its momentum. Yes,
Cindy Sheehan is the leader of this thing, but she can leave for a bit and there are other moms who are just as well-spoken as her to take over.
And this is where I'm seeing another facet in the pendulum starting to change direction...the pundits are going after moms. They're booting this...do you think the moms in the so-called heartland (where most of the US population
doesn't live) who love Laura and think the War Criminal is such a great christian is going to put up for dickheads bullying a mom whose son was killed in Iraq?
Oh, and two things about that tool who said that Sheehan is treating her son like an idiot in protesting a war he volunteered for. First dumbass, she already said that he knew that it was a war for oil, but that he felt he had to go to help protect his buddies. Second dumbass,
you you and all your brethren are the blind ones who have been getting fooled, fool.
I know it's trite, but the saying about those who don't pay attention to history being doomed to repeat it...Jeez...how many wars do we have to go back and look at objectively, when time has allowed us to really look at the causes, to see that there is almost never a war that wasn't started for bullshit reasons. I may give you WWII, but if you gave me time to do some research I may argue that we weren't the complete victims there. And in almost every war, the ones who do the declaring don't do the dying.

Dig this quote. It's from someone who has been down in Crawford, Texass and got to experience the War Criminal going to a GOP fundraiser from his ranch:
The president had to pass the crosses and protestors when he attended a GOP fundraiser Friday afternoon (Aug. 12) at a nearby ranch. We protestors were backed farther away from the road, roped off with police tape for about four hours with Secret Service, state and county law enforcement officers. A helicopter flew overhead lower than others that we were accustomed to. The helicopter had an agent riding outside with a weapon trained on us, but once the motorcade passed he moved on as well. The motorcade went by us twice very fast, and a few of the vehicles had rifles pointed out open windows. I was thankful no one made any sudden moves. more...
If you have to have guns trained on peace protesters, you are cracking up and your reign is in serious trouble, dude.
Shoot, President Clintonbagger would've been out there hitting on chicks or something like that.
=====================================================================================
Whoa Nellie,
I don't think so, sister. I don't even know if I believe in Jesus (which is for another posting), but I know he wouldn't have voted for
this Democratic Party. If he had to pick he definitely would have voted Green. Jee-sus Christ!
Two quick things...I've heard a few times lately, how everyone should "respect the office" of president. So you shouldn't use harsh language when talking about the War Criminal because he is, after all, the prez. F - that. I'll respect the office when
he does. He's not my president. My president didn't cheat his way into office, attack other countries unprovoked and spread lies and hate. I love all these wankers who tell me I'm not a patriot because I critize those in power when they do the exact things that we are supposed to abhor about brutal dictatorships. "F-you and your family too."
======================================================================================
Hmmmm...what to do. I wrote a good chunk of a new song tonight. The problem is, it's not very Whitee-like. In fact, it's kind of an angry, Ani-like downer. It's not done yet, but I don't know what to do with it. It sure doesn't fit with Flapjacking, Tasty Beverage or Vegetarian Bondage Freak. Well, I'll finish it first then figure it out.

I've seen & heard of a few of these right-wing media screwballs attacking
Cindy Sheehan, and it hasn't surprised me much. What are you going to expect them to say?
"Oh, I was totally wrong. Nevermind."
Yeah. Not happening Sparky. These idiots would be giving up the jobs that made them rich. I'm probably wrong, but I've always had this feeling that they really didn't believe half the crap they shovelled, but it was a job to them...which may be more reprehensible, but I digress...
This article does a pretty good job of summing up the looneys. I think my old squeeze, Ann Coulter, and company are really losing their minds. Whatever.
I've unfortunately started to tune into some Air America shows again...only for a few minutes at a time...it's all I can handle. But creepy Randi Rhodes did have a good point - the only way the War Criminal is going to be held accountable is with Dem victories in the 2006 congressional races...even then...that would just give the Dems the
ability to do something. It doesn't mean they will.
I'm not really interested in any kind of retribution against the nutty-right. I want to see real, sytematic change. Screw this pendulum thing that keeps going right to left and back. Again, it won't happen, but
instant runoff voting will fix a lot of what ails this country. So would some
proportional representation. But that's just me.
This weekend I had a sort-of conversation with this guy about local politics who is this cantankerous old righty. His solution to everything that ails this town was more police on the street and that everyone in the city is a welfare-swindler. You can't change those people's minds. You have to just do what you're going to do and let them kick and scream and when it works they'll stop screaming but find something else to complain about.

Every once in a while, I find something online that confuses me. Not like that ridiculous
Leonard Nemoy Salsa thing. I mean something of a serious nature. I was on Common Dreams when I got hit with this:
It's time someone praised and defended reckless teenage girls and young women who behave badly, dress provocatively, engage in risky sex, and get pregnant. They are the normal ones. The rest of us are the deviants. They are behaving in the most natural way. The rest of us are mutants. Here's the whole thing. When you read the rest of the article, it's really about child care legislation in Australia, but that opening paragraph and the one after it, knocked me upside the head. The guy was only focusing on woman and reproduction, but what about sexuality in general. I mean, we tell our daughters not to be "sluts" then we buy products that advertise using sex. And normally these ads feature young, too-skinny women who give the aire that this is your only way of being popular or to get what you want. Capitalism is great, competition is good - but when corporations use psychologists to create advertising to children we wonder what's wrong with our kids and that it must be the parents' fault.
Kids are sexual beings and I think they should engage in sexual behavior (I think
I should too, but that doesn't seem to be working out too well, either). And in my professional life there have been many instances where I've had to talk with kids about sexual issues. I've rarely been able to say what I really have wanted to for risk of getting fired or a kid not understanding what I'm saying. If a kid has been exposed to nothing but repressive ideas around his/her sexuality for 15 years, a 30 minute discussion with me isn't going to bring about a big change.
Look, I'm not going to just tell a kid to "pork away, pal." (Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda) But I have no problem in having a discussion with a teenager where the main jist is that the kid should do what he/she feels comfortable with in a safe, consensual manner. This is where sex education comes in. I guess it's how you see sexuality. Procreation, recreation or both. Some see it as a commodity or a means to an end (no pun intended). Some are able to see it as different things at different times.
I wish I had the time to go deeper into this, but I don't right now. Another time. But I will sum up with this...it's very difficult to break familial patterns. Whether it's abuse, addiction, being obnoxious...the same goes with sexuality. If you grew up in a house where sex was connected to something negative either directly or indirectly, it takes a lot of hard work to not have that be the case in your house. Some are able to use our parents'...ummmm...inadequacies to teach us how
not to be parents ourselves, but it's not easy. It takes a lot of recogition and understanding of what the deal is.
I guess I drifted off the point there...I should be punished. But that's a different topic.

Maybe there is a god afterall.Look, I'm not saying this because I love Bill or Hillary Clintonbagger - I think I've made my opinion clear that they're hypocrites, just like almost every other politician. But people are freakin obsessed with these two. I mean, if you're going to hate Bubba, hate him for bombing Iraq and other places, for screwing gays and people on welfare. Who gives a crap about an intern or Whitewater. For crying out loud, The War Criminal and Vice WC are making millions off of going to war.
At least this idiot had the decency to give it up. Many nutjobs wouldn't have.
Wha? OK...how do you get
nuclear power is good for the environment? Yeah, it doesn't contribute to global warming, but that's not the only thing harming the environment. That's just the carbon aspect of it. Crap that gets into groundwater, polluting rivers, lakes & oceans and...oh yeah..
radioactive waste...that's not good for the environment.
Sure, I have leukemia, sores all over my body and my 7 testicles glow...but at least I'm not coughing!
This is another example of how weird it is to get old. As I realize that life is more complicated and nuanced than I thought it was when I was younger, I also am able to see some things in pretty black and white terms...like, radioactivity is bad for you. That's pretty much all there is to that. No nuance there. Kinda like HIV or Terell Owens...

Torture 'R Us
Here's one.And AnotherThis is from the Financial Times, not some anti-war site.
The New York Times is supposed to be so darn trustworthy, right?
Oh, and like all of our other jobs, we outsource some of our torturing jobs:
Like here.
And here.
In your name, pal.
I really think this is what it must have been like when Rome fell. The absolute cluelessness of the leaders, just not getting it. I'm not necessarily saying that the US is going down or that maybe the War Criminal's administration's going down, but if that's the case they may be taking the rest of us with them. A few things have been happening this week that make me think this way:
- Look...I'm sorry, but Iran has absolutely no obligation to stop it's nuclear power program. North Korea, too. We're not only maintaining our own stockpile but that f-ing moron president of yours is trying to develop more! The EU is in the same boat. You can't give tax breaks to the rich nuclear power industry here, continue to develop new nuclear weapons and then tell another country not to. That would be like me telling you not to drink beer or watch porn....if I did those things, of course.
- Oh and Pakistan just tested it's first Cruise Missle. Congratulations goes out to Pakistan & the missus.
- The Army fired a 4 star general for having an affair, but does nothing to officers who torture prisoners. Folks...we torture prisoners. We are as evil as any facist or communist dictatorship you can think of. We use psychiatrists to figure out the best way to torture. We have "rape rooms" in Iraq. Face it...we suck ass...this is in your name.
Now, the criminals in charge just don't get it. They really don't. They have no freakin idea what they're doing. They honestly feel that they are impervious to anything legal. What do I mean?
- The Republican Party is paying the legal bills of a guy in New England who is going down for rigging elections. Others have already confessed and are cooperating with prosecutors. I wish they'd send him to a real prison, but they won't.
- OK...I don't want to hear another MF'er complain about my 9/11 takes. When that suckwad Rumsfeld is holding a freakin concert. This is just straight-up balls. I don't know what else to call it. This cat is an idiot with major stones. And the music sucks, too.
- But of course, the best is for last...yep...Cindy Sheehan. This is close to a perfect storm kinda thing. The press is starting to get sick & tired of the lies (starting, anyway), this is a real story that they're not going to drop and she's good. Until I see otherwise, her motives seem pure, but she was against the war to begin with and there are a lot of folks who were down with the war criminal who are now not. And the righty pundits are trying to go after Sheehan...stupid...dumb...cocky. And the longer the War Criminal waits the worse it's gonna be. Busloads of people are going to Crawford as we speak.
Add on the Bolton crap in the UN, Karl Rove, CAFTA, inaction in Niger, continuing investigations in Ohio on voter fraud, their absolute refusal to acknowledge global warming. They are not throwing moderates to lefties one single bone to keep them relatively satisfied. Next year's congressional races are gonna be interesting - until the Dems blow it, but we have time to get to that later.

Song Update!
A couple of songs have been...um...revised - hopefully for the better. Check 'em out.
Tasty Beverage was driving me nuts. I didn't like the
salad verse and I just wasn't feeling the chorus. I like where it is now. I like the new verse...updated for the millenium...I'm psyched to practice it.
Leftovers of Wayne was buggin me too. Last verse...not good. The funny thing is, the last verse had the little bit of what the song was really about...that's OK, I like it better this way...the structure's different, the strength of the song is now featured. Good times.
But damn, I gotta force myself to get to writing. I only have 5 songs...I have notes & scraps of paper up the wazoo...gotta get to writing.

Here is a quote...
people like XXXXXXX have an ideology that is dark, dim, backwards. They don't trust, they don't appreciate women. If you don't agree to their narrow view of a religion, you'll be whipped in the public square. That's their view. And they have tactics to help spread that view. In other words, they've got goals. They want to spread that point of view throughout the world, starting in the broader Middle East.
Sounds like some commie pinko complaining about the War Criminal's administration, doesn't it? Oddly enough, it actually
is the War Criminal,
talking about so-called terrorists. What a freakin hypocrite.
On a tangent, if they haven't already, I wish
Bob Novak's nuts would shrivel up and fall off. I'm just sayin, OK?
I don't have much to post today, but I would like to share some links to some really good articles:
A really good article in the Guardian on
the West accepting responsiblity for our role in what's going on in the world.
A
blog entry from David Sirota is good for illuminating the Democratic "leadership's" refusal to denounce the invasion of Iraq, but I think he misses the point. He thinks these cats are
embarrassed about their previous support of the war - that's why they will not say anything now. I believe it's because they have a vested interest in continuing...financial, political, etc. There is less difference between the "leadership" of the D's and the R's than layfolks realize.
And finally, I don't care what anyone says...the rank & file D's who are creaming over Paul Hackett's
loss in Ohio sums it up. Yeah, yeah...a highly Republican district, blah, blah, blah...but that's the D's big "victory"...a loss. Loser is as loser does.

Easy Kids...let's not get distracted here. Don't worry about
Rafael Palmeiro...while the War Criminal stands up for his Viagra-slinging buddy, the War Criminal is still killing, lying and being a sanctimonious hypocrite. War...Rove...CAFTA...and more. That's where you should be focusing.
I have to admit...I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at the other stuff and...BAM...the War Criminal hit us with
John Bolton in the UN. You can't say this guy is stupid...autistic, maybe, but not stupid. He is fully intent on the US sitting at home in its underwear, polishing its shotgun in a dark room. He & his posse do not compromise...they lie, cheat and steal...period. Bullies have to be confronted and the Dems will not do that. But...
Here's an
interesting article on the savior of the Democratic Party. Good luck.
I was told that today, a local union leader said that many unionists still hate the Green Party for Ralph Nader in 2000. I hate people. You know, if Michael Moore is such a freakin god to these sheep, then they would pay attention when he explained how the War Criminal & Co stole the election. Nader didn't matter and the Dems used him as an excuse...but I'm not going there again...I may as well argue over Truman & Dewey for crying out loud.
Monday, August 01, 2005
Again, the majority of stuff I could post on right now is personal...and again, not interested in turning this into a web journal. But I do have a couple of quick things....
It's
funny how folks say crap like, "I would be a green if you would win elections." One activist told me that if I won my school board election he would register green. So I had the bandwagon vote, I guess. In other words, I'm not going to help you do the hard work, I'll wait til all that stuff is taken care of.
Fine. So now locally we're focusing on one election...getting that win that everyone's calling for. Then, they can't figure out where the Greens are when there's a new issue to protest. We're busy trying to win elections, you idiots.
Nationally, progressives are in trouble. We as individuals can't do shit about the devil's juggernaut...Iraq, Supreme Court, etc. The only stop gap is Congress. I know that Dems don't have the majority in either house, but there are procedural stuff they can do to screw things up, espcially with the court stuff. They have to grow spines...that's where the individual progressives should be focusing.
Face it, the War Criminal ain't getting impeached even though he could on ten different charges. Congress is where it's at.
