Cautious Fuzz

Notes: To finish off the pattern, we now have a series of panels that are all full-length diagonal. It's a bit much to hope for, but I wanted to create the feeling that as you went from one page to the next the camera was slowly spiralling out. Horizontal into vertical into diagonal. And as we watch, Rob Adler's space ship moves from completely abover the page (breaking several borders at the same time) to being deep inside the image and heading off toward the stars. Of course, the ships don't line up correctly for that image to be immediately apparent, but I think most people get it after looking for a minute or two.
Just as a little funny annecdote, when I first finished this page something looked wrong, but I couldn't figure out what. That's when Steve Lorenz (the real life Uncle Dog) pointed out to me that I'd filled the whole sky with stars and not left the required black space to account for the eclipsed portions of the moon. Yup ... in MY universe bodies in shadow became transparent. *lol* Sort of like shadows in a bad blue-screen shots.
The space ship, by the way, is based on one designed for a superhero group I designed at summer camp way back in 1977. I was aided by a fellow named Howie Ratner, whom I haven't spoken to since about 1980. But if, somehow, Howie manages to read this, he ought to know that I haven't forgotten him, his hero (T-Square), or Camp Lokanda in beautiful Glenn Spey, NY.
Anyway, here's where the story closes. An ending, but one that certainly begs the question: What happens next?
Of all the comicbooks I've fiddled around with, I think Cautious Fuzz was the one with the greatest potential. I started blocking out and dialoguing a sequel, but it never got beyond the sketch stage. If I can scrounge up those pages I'll scan them and add them to the Sketches page. What's more, I also had a whole "season" worth of story-arc loosely figured out. (Conceptually I approached Cautious Fuzz as though it was a weekly, episodic TV show that would reach a conclusion ... or at least a new springing off point ... after a while. Maybe I ought to dust it off and see what my Hollywood contacts think ... hmmmmmmm)
Anyway, I hope you found this "historical record" at least moderately entertaining. Thanks for listening to me ramble.
