I used to put Mother's Day with all the other contrived "holidays" like valentine's day, but this year I realized that if I actually called & visited my mother as much as I should...or even half of what I should, then Mother's Day wouldn't be necessary - for me, anyway. So to sum up:

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. From your douchebag son!

I'm also down with Mother's Day because I recently found out how it began in the US. Yep. A warmonger had a change of heart and started M-Day as a peace activist. Maybe I'll plant a tree in my Mother's front yard for next year...I'm sure she'll love that.

Now, valentine's day...that's a whole other story. I still maintain that VD wouldn't be necessary if people would treat their significant others well all year 'round. Look at me...I make sure I always have hand lotion at home...I always use batting gloves when I play ball...I try not to bite my nails...OK...enough Autosexual jokes. You get the point.
