I've said a few times that we're going to need to hit rock bottom before there's any real change. I mean, permanent, systematic change. I'd like to think we've gotten there, but history has shown that it's probably the pendulum starting to swing the other way. Which means things may be changing, but eventually it will change back. There's still a butt-load of work to do, but it's a start. All the dummies in power have been taking too much for granted and now there are people starting to fight back a bit...such as:
It looks like some mainstream media is starting to hammer away at the War Criminal and the war. I saw on NBC's Nightly News a report showing how
invading Iraq has actually increased the number of terrorists. And I stumbled upon CNN's upcoming documentary about the so-called
intellegence breakdown on the never-existing WMD's in Iraq.
Why this is starting to happen, I'll get to it in a minute.
But the stuff happening over in Gaza...an absolutely perfect point made
by Jonathan Steele in the Guardian. Recently, there was no warning or remunerations for Palestinians who were
forced out of their homes in the Gaza Strip only minutes before they were bulldozed. Yep. That's gonna be interesting.
I will say this. The UN (notice I said the UN, not the US) should tell the Palestinians to control those dudes in Hamas - that if there is any attack on Israel...any shenanigans, the UN sends in troops. This is the best opportunity we have to get real peace going there and we can't let some knuckleheads screw it up.
I mentioned earlier that some cats in the GOP are a little worried about the 2006 congressional elections. Paul Krugman's right on target when he warns us that
this worry is only going to cause them to steal more elections. People with a hint of interest in Democracy need to start getting their act together. Making this whole process as transparent as possible is going to be the only way to combat this crap.
And while both are a couple of sell-out MF'ers, John "I ain't that baby daddy" McCain and the Clintonbagger went up to Alaska and were
shocked at the effect of global warming...as if they had just heard about it now. Asses. You know they aren't going to do doody...oh, yes they will. Blah, blah, blah...
OK...let's get down to it. Cindy Sheehan. Well, she's left Tex-ass for a bit because her Mom had a stroke. Bad for the mom, good for the movement. Other "moms" have stepped up to keep the campaign in Crawford going. When asked if she was going to follow the War Criminal back to Washington in September, Sheehan said that the movement was going to - and she is going to be there, but not "24/7". That is a real movement. It's not just Cindypalooza. That is what's going to sustain this and continue building its momentum. Yes,
Cindy Sheehan is the leader of this thing, but she can leave for a bit and there are other moms who are just as well-spoken as her to take over.
And this is where I'm seeing another facet in the pendulum starting to change direction...the pundits are going after moms. They're booting this...do you think the moms in the so-called heartland (where most of the US population
doesn't live) who love Laura and think the War Criminal is such a great christian is going to put up for dickheads bullying a mom whose son was killed in Iraq?
Oh, and two things about that tool who said that Sheehan is treating her son like an idiot in protesting a war he volunteered for. First dumbass, she already said that he knew that it was a war for oil, but that he felt he had to go to help protect his buddies. Second dumbass,
you you and all your brethren are the blind ones who have been getting fooled, fool.
I know it's trite, but the saying about those who don't pay attention to history being doomed to repeat it...Jeez...how many wars do we have to go back and look at objectively, when time has allowed us to really look at the causes, to see that there is almost never a war that wasn't started for bullshit reasons. I may give you WWII, but if you gave me time to do some research I may argue that we weren't the complete victims there. And in almost every war, the ones who do the declaring don't do the dying.
