Music, culture & politics. We'll also update Whitee's recording progress.
I...uh...well...it's a start...I guess.
Popular music has always been the scourage of youth. Adults thought Sinatra & Elvis were evil back in the day and it goes on and on. I guess the difference between a lot of corporate hip-hop and the music back in the day is that a lot of the stuff today is extremely materialistic and violent whereas the other stuff was about getting laid...generally.
So when I see someone known for being an icon in the corporate hip-hop world standing up for something and taking action I tend to take notice. Hurray! Jay-Z is calling for a boycott of...
Cristal Champagne...
Oh.
Yeah...I'm all over that,
Shawn. Hey Shawn, that French dude didn't say he didn't want black people to buy Cristal, he said he wasn't thrilled about the image of his product being linked to the corporate hip-hop image. It's YOU who said it's racial, which means it's YOU who says that the violence and materialism is what black people are all about.
Poor Shawn...now he & Beyonce have to sip Dom Perignon.
Ass.
