Oops. It's amazing how things can be inter-related. Dig this...
In the new
Mother Jones Magazine the lead story is about...the environment...of course, but it's a bit more in depth. It's also about us losing species of living things by the thousands and quicker than we realize.
Now
this article isn't the best read in the world, but it is interesting. And it brought up a fascinating point...
We have wildlife preserves and other segregated environmental sanctuaries and it turns out that we really don't preserve that much when we do this because of the interdependence of life on its surroundings. By limiting the space, we really do not preserve anything. So...there's a plan that looks like it could be enacted by Canada, the US & Mexico to create a huge...uh...swatch (sic?) of territory that would allow animals & other species to migrate or do the voodoo that they do to continue. Great. Here's the catch.
Stupid, mother-fuckers in the US government building walls & fences to keep Mexicans out are screwing this up...animals can't get through! We are tools. It's really that simple...go ahead, throw your - go back to Cuba crap, but that makes you a tool, too. Even when we do the right thing, we do it wrong.
