My intent is that this be the only post I do on the Virginia Tech shootings and it's not really about the shootings themselves. It's about the coverage of it. NBC sucks holy ass for airing that video of the nutjob who did all this. If there was any integrity left of the mainstream press then I would weigh their argument that it was to better understand why it happened, but there is no credibility there. Therefore, they aired that video gratuitously for ratings. The sad thing is, I was stunned by who repeated NBC's crassness. First, I hear everyone on The Stephanie Miller Show rail on NBC for airing it -
as they were playing audio clips from the video! And I'm sad to say that Democracy Now did the same thing, though they reported it straight, without the judgement of SM. The weird thing is, the one person I heard who straight out refused to play any of it was Ed Schultz, whose show I really don't like at all.
The new
Stuart Bedasso Show is up. I had on my topic list, the VT shootings. I didn't want to discuss it, but I assumed the rest of the gang would. They didn't want to either. We were all of the same mind - it's everywhere being analyzed from every angle. We decided to be a
break from it.
So there...that's all I plan on saying about the whole thing.
On a semi-different note. Notice the new "cause" to the left. It appears the corporate scumbags at Time Warner are pushing the post office to increase the cost of postage for small, independent publications while giving huge conglomerates price breaks. F-ing typical. So you can do one of those e-letter things to the appropriate bureaucrats & pseudo-representatives. It only takes a second so click on over.

I have both cable TV & Road Runner - and while I have to admit, I'd be a bit lost without the internet hook-up, I'm getting ready to get rid of the cable. I don't need the Food Network that much and I hate giving those bastards any more money than I have to. It's probably going to only take one more bill with nickel & dime charges that I don't recognize.
