I've been asked before if I'm a socialist. Again, I'm not big on labels. With all the wealth we have in this country...hell, in the world...there is no excuse for a single person anywhere not having the basic necessities. Period. Shouldn't even be a discussion. You want a yacht? Fine, then go work your ass for it. But no one should be hungry.
Having said that - again - read this interview. It's not nirvana, but it's as close as I've seen in any media.
*OK, Norm Chomsky has never been the most dynamic speaker and not an easy read, but what he says here is pretty significant. It's basically the David Cobb strategy...if you're in a "swing state" vote for the lesser of two evils, if you're not, go with your conscience.
*At least he singles out the Greens as an alternative as opposed to the freakin Constitution Party.
*It would be so cool if President Obama puts Nader in a cabinet position. Seriously. It's what the guy should be doing...and he wouldn't run for President any more.
Wow. THIS is an example of how to do research about a candidate. Looking at this you can safely say that John McCain is a liar and he "hates the troops."
And while I'm here, I may as well just get this over with.
OK...we have to do something about the banks. No...we don't. What we need to do instead is to take care of small businesses and people under the shackles of these predatory morgages. Take care of those people and the banks can go f-themselves.
